... "A Million Bullets" is a great description of British Combat Operations in Helmand during 2006. It gives a clear overall Picture of what the "Brits" faced during their time there. In places most of the western world had not heard of, until the MOD finally accepted the fact that the soldiers fighting this war had a right to have their story told.
And what a story it is, the book tells of the victories and the defeats that the members of the Battle Group experienced. I use the term Battle Group to describe the Unit, as it was a mixture of Units that fought under the command of 16 Air Assault Brigade.
The Book highlights not only the battles in Helmand, but also the sometimes even tougher Battles that had to be fought against the political masters at home, who did not understand (either by design or incompetence) what the troops needed and requested made sense (at least in Afghanistan).
This book should be read in combination with "3 Para" and "Ground Truth"....
