1.0 von 5 Sternen a bad book
This is not the best book to improve yourself. Basically there is nothing new on it . "You have the power and capability to change your life " is the main message but you do not learn how to start to change or to reinvent you.

The book is more a biography or story-telling and thus not worthy as self-improvement book.

2.0 von 5 Sternen Big Disappointment, 13. August 1999
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Re-inventing Yourself (Audio CD)
The concept of reinventing oneself is highly intriguing... however, I never felt I got to the "meat" of the proposition. Chandler's voice is very monotone - I found my mind wandering too often, therefore I had to rewind frequently. I don't think my money or time was well spent with this one.

What this book does is amazingly simple and yet amazingly powerful: it helps you get beyond the concept of having a fixed personality and encourages you to embrace a larger, more positive self-concept. Because of Steve, I see things now not only with greater clarity but also with a sense of humor that I never had before. Steve is infectiously funny, but also serious about the things that matter most. This guy changed my life, helped me get out of that idiotic victim-mentality which was dragging me down, and put me on my feet with a new vision and a new self-confidence. But don't take my word for it.... get ReInventing Yourself and see what I mean!

PS His other book, 100 Ways to Motivate Yourself, is also worth its weight in gold!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Steve show you the road to success, 25. Juli 2000
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Re-inventing Yourself (Audio CD)
Reinventing your self By Steve Chandler the best author book " 100 ways to improve your self"

By Mr. Steve you can walk on water.

By reading this book you will gain the information that can save your life. Mr. Steve teach you the process that can change your life as Mr. Steve said" you can be anybody you want to be, you can invent yourself as you go, you just do not know" you MUST believe in your self because if you do not nobody will.

This is my analysis of Steve"s book and, I would follow majority of Steve"s idea with you.

1. You can be anybody you want to be, you can invent yourself as you go, you just do not know 2. Studies of human performance over the years have proven that, there are two kinds of people in any given situation : Victim & Owner ,so who do you realy want to be. 3. You can tap into the spirit in your self, any time you want. It is always there, heros do not have any thing that you do not have 4. The next time you see the spirit in someone else , do not just admire it; think of how to do your own version of it, do not envy it, duplicate it 5. Talk to your self every day " I can do that" every time you see some one do something great, do not say like other people " I could nenver do that" 6. If you think you are coward, you will live and act as a coward 7. We can stuck inside a childhoood self concept, but we do not have to 8. People who are stuck inside a personality do not releazie that thet have a staranger self deeper inside 9. Do not work hard, work smart 10. Learn to say "NO" 11. We become what we think about 12. You fall, you learn 13. The more you give the more you get 14. If you help others", you will be helped 15. The primary reason that people do not get what they want in life is that, they do not want to ask for it.

Other self-help authors will tell you what's wrong with you. Some will give you behavioral exercises without telling you what's wrong with your thinking. Others will tell you, without convincing you, that you're ok, I'm ok.

Steve Chandler does what others don't. You know all those platitudes you've heard about how great you are and how much potential you have? Chandler makes you believe them.

He goes beyond mantra-repetition and raw behavior therapy. He says that all our emotions are preceeded by thoughts, and explains with absolutely incredible and hilarious insight why you think the way you do now, and what thoughts would make more sense.

One thing he talks about is the "I gotta be me" myth. The myth is that we have a permanent personality that is synonymous with who we are. We think that certain habits, like procrastinating, or being attracted to a particular kind of person, or being shy or pessimistic is "who we are," and that makes us artificially reluctant to change.

If by chance you happened to read my review of "The Now Habit" by Neil Fiore, I want you to know that this one's even better. I've read all three of Chandler's books, and they're all great. Buy 'em all. You won't be sorry.

I had the chance to see Mr. Chandle inperson. What a wonderful, funny guy. I love his premise. I am reborn. I listened to him talk for 39 minutes and I realize that he is NOT a motivational speaker, and most importantly, he gets it.Fight the good fight

5.0 von 5 Sternen Refreshingly simple and highly useful, 24. September 1999
Von Ein Kunde
Of the many self-help books I have read, this is the first one to help me to overcome some personal barriers that had limited me for years. I still reread some of the chapters periodically to perpetuate the positive changes I have made in my life. If you've got the desire to change but just can't seem to get in the groove, this book's for you. And no, nobody paid me to say any of this!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Not another useless self-help book., 3. Juni 1999
Von Ein Kunde
Steve's book is not another useless self-help, psuedo-motivational book. It gives you the tools needs to truly reinvent yourself. It gave me clarity of mind and literally rescued me from the negative thought processes that had taken control of my life. If you are reading this Steve Chandler... Thanks.
