Design Patterns for a Service Oriented Architecture are availbale, and potentially very useful. However, this book is as an inventory disappointing. The patterns are there (at least those from the traditional SOA-approach, the RESTful patterns are not included, as far as I have seen), but are rather opaque in their description. Vague diagrams don't help either.
The book looks nice, feels good in the hand, is well printed on fine paper, but the content is a disappointment.
Still, ik has some value as an inventory, but it could have been better.

As probably all books from this author (at least all I have read):
- partly useful, but no pleasure to read
- extremely self-referential and redundant
- dogmatic, verbose, unpractical
- lots of elaborate, but actually dull (trivial content) figures
