Hundreds of activities for the Business English classroom. No need to hunt for activity books for the beginner teacher, and is good to carry around for the experienced harassed teacher in need of quick ideas at a push ;-)
But *not* much of a theory book; so it's not the best if you are doing the Cambridge DELTA Part 3 Business English specialization. There I prefer the Mark Ellis & Christine Johnson book and also Nick Brieger - very good background issue coverage such as Needs Analysis, customer profiles. Those two are the oldest of the 4 standard books on BE. The last and the newest of the lot is Evan Frendo 'how to' book, and all 4 of them are recommended in the DELTA website. However, as I said I prefer the Ellis book and the Brieger book, even though DELTA website has Donna and Frendo at the top of the list perhaps as they are the latest.
This book, the Donna book, is the best for actual classroom teaching as it is full of classroom activities, and also if you are going to do a BE class for the part 2, Teaching Practice, of the DELTA. She has given forms and schedules to submit to companies and for use in class so is a very practical book and extremely useful for a beginner teacher to get started off with. I have been a BE teacher for 8 years and I still find the book very very useful.
So to sum up if you need one book for starting BE teaching - buy this! You might not need any other for about few months even a year :-)
Add the others in this order Frendo, Briegar, Ellis, to broaden your understanding of the industry you have got into, and for a professional image in dealing with companies and their needs.
If you need (a) book(s) for the DELTA BE specialism - go for Brieger, then Ellis first and then Frendo and Donna last. Check out Frendo and Scott Thornbury blogs and British Council Teaching English website for the latest stuff if you buy only the first two.

This book is very helpful for new Business English teachers.
However, there is not much new input for those who have been teaching for a while.
Nevertheless, it is worth reading.

Ich bin 24 Jahre alt und studiere Englisch für das Lehramt in Wien. Als ich die Chance erhielt, Business English Kurse zu halten, habe ich sofort ja gesagt, weil ich wußte, daß ich wertvolle Erfahrungen würde sammeln können. Mit meinem zarten Alter, mit wenig Erfahrung in der Erwachsenenbildung und ohne jede Ahnung von Wirtschaft finde ich das ein gewagtes Unternehmen. Aber - wer nicht wagt, der (die) nicht gewinnt! Und ich fühle mich als Gewinnerin auf allen Ebenen - Business Englisch zu unterrichten ist toll. Und, Sylvie Donna`s Buch war sehr hilfreich für mich - weniger die Methoden, als Tipps betreffend "needs analysis, placement testing, selecting and using materials, lack of expertise, end-of-course feedback". Einige ganz konkrete Übungsvorschläge waren komplett neu für mich und waren erfolgreich direkt einsetzbar. 4 Sterne deshalb, weil die Autoren des öfteren nur schreibt, was man nicht alles so-oder-so machen sollte - bloß, sie erwähnt nicht, wie das praktisch funktionieren soll! Da muß man wohl erst wieder selbst (schlechte?) Erfahrung sammeln...
