Exactly What I Needed,
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
This book really made me realize that my symptoms and behavior related to my depression are not my fault. It also made me see that I am following the correct path toward getting well, and that is comforting. Plus, it taught me that it may not be easy, but finding a solution is possible, and you don't have to be a doctor to understand this illness.I can't believe anyone would write anything negative about this book because it brought me such hope for my future. Don't listen to anyone who is so pessimistic about life that they can't appreciate the value of a simple, yet powerful, message of hope. This Is A Great Book! This Book Gave Me Hope & Taught Me How To Fight My Battle,
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
Besides teaching me the truth about my disorder and what my diagnosis really means, teaching me what I needed to do to overcome it, and teaching my parents and sister how to help me; reading Win The Battle was an incredible coping tool for me to lift my spirits and gain hope on my most trying days. I have now found a medication that works for me, but when I needed it most this book was there to remind me of what I needed to be doing to get better, and it totally made me realize what I was doing wrong when dealing with my doctor. I highly recommend this book to anyone searching for an answer and a light at the end of their dark tunnel of depression. I especially recommend it for people dealing with suicidal thoughts or supporters who don't understand why people with depression sometimes want to die. Don't miss out on this informative and heartwarming book.

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
Never has a booked touched the subject of depression and bipolor disorder the way Win the Battle has. No physician or human being that has suffered from this debilitating often life threatening illness could put into words the courage and hope that Bob Olson has. There is a cure out there, this book is it! As a Doctor of Naturopathic medicine, I know many people with these problems want a quick fix. Well, there are no magic solutions, there is no secret potion. But there is a 3 way, life saving guide to bring lasting health, emotional well being and a quality of life one can only begin to imagine after having suffered for so long. Pick up this book and start today to a better, happier and healthier you. Work the three steps, and read about one courageous man who beat this terrible disorder. Your cure and lasting good health, are only a bookstore away. If someone you love or care is feeling blue, down, sleeps more than normal, has lost his appetite, feels a sense of worthlessness, or even contimplates sucide, don't wait, pick up this book today, you could be saving the life of your friend or loved one. Take the step, this is the time, now is the hour. Never has a book touched me or my clients the way this one has. Thank you, Bob, no angel could have written it better. Rev. Dr. Vicki Monroe

Simplistic, egocentric, poorly written,

My prior review of this book was more current than many included here, but is now missing. Perhaps negative reviews of books hurts sales for Amazon.com.? Also, the "editorial reviews" for this book were written by the author and the publisher. Real objective! By the way, it was the correct medicine that cured Olson's depression, not "his steps." He says so himself in the book. Incidently, I've suffered from severe depression for five years, and I know the difference the right medication can make.

Bad Sales Pitch,
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
This book seemed devoid of any real content. It seems the author spent most his time writing about how good the book is and why the reader needs to buy more copies of it. There is some good material in it, but only enough for me to give it two stars.

First Book Recommended To Me By My Support Group,
Von Roland Hammer (Boston) - Alle meine Rezensionen ansehen
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
Written by a guy who obviously knows what it means to be depressed, this book takes the almost overwhelming concept of "How To Beat Depression & Bipolar Disorder" and spells it out in the easiest of terms. Does it mean you will get better next week just by reading it? No. But it teaches the reader what he needs to be doing to get better. And even more, it teaches why there is hope for ending your suffering. This is the first book recommended to me by my support group. Over several months, I read the book at least nine times. Today, I have a medication that relieves me of my symptoms. What more can I say. If you suffer, read this book. Helfen Sie anderen Kunden bei der Suche nach den hilfreichsten Rezensionen

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
This book is helpful if you're at the end of your rope. Basically, it instructs you not to give up, and tells you how the author eventually became cured through perseverence. It does not give you practical ways to overcome your depression, ie cognitive therapy or other kinds of self help. It motivates you to seek help and try every possible way to get better-- different doctors, medications, etc.

Winning the Battle?,
Von Hilda Cerdeira (Trieste, Italy) - Alle meine Rezensionen ansehen
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
I found this book misleading, it makes the reader believe that Bipolar Disorder is easy to cure if you follow a few simple steps. For those of us, who have close relatives who suffer the disease and have to endure it, this book is an insult. Where is the maelstrom where the whole family is thrown during the manic pahses? Where is the dispair of the patient during the depressive periods? Where is the fight to convince the patient, who is either a god or scum, to seek help? There is nothing "romantic" in this illness, bad wheather brings depression, good whether brings mania, with short intervals in between. And the solution is not around the corner for everyone. This comment is also a criticism to the lack of responsibility of the editors, who chose to publish it. Extremely Well-Written For The Depressed,
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
The author states, at the beginning of Part II, that he purposely wrote this book so it is easy-to-read for those of us dealing with depressive symptoms such as low energy, low motivation, & difficulty concentrating. He's right. I, personally, could not get through some of the more difficult and complex books on this subject. It takes a skilled & confident writer to refrain from using the fancy prose & medical jargon, and to remain focused on the simplest way to present his message and the lessons he has to teach. Olson brilliantly succeeded in this regard. While some may accuse Olson as being repetitive of some lessons, the best teachers know that "repetition is the mother of all learning." Readers of "Win The Battle" will not walk away confused as to what they need to do to get better. If you want a book that requires great intellectual thought, buy something else. If you want a book that will give you straightforward guidance (from experience not theory) and one powerful message of hope, read this one. (It was the first book recommended to me when I joined my support group.) Helfen Sie anderen Kunden bei der Suche nach den hilfreichsten Rezensionen

You can't overcome bipolar disorder in 3 lifesaving steps!,
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Win the Battle: The 3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Depression & Bipolar Disorder (Gebundene Ausgabe)
Frankly, I am surprised by the number of favorable reviews already submitted here! The content is so generic/inspirational, Olson could easily have done a global "search and replace" and written about a "3-Step Lifesaving Formula to Conquer Game Show Anxiety" or any other perceived challenge. I found this book incredibly simplistic and repetitive, very disappointing, and in general, poorly written. For anyone who has done any reading at all about bipolar disorder, there is nothing remotely new here.
