As a mystery, this book isn't very challenging. It's quite easy to figure out the solution. But the whole story is so charming, the setting is unusual and yet convincing and the protagonists are so likeable that the mystery actually isn't that important anymore.
Carola Dunn has created the setting that works best for her Daisy Dalrymple stories - a fixed location and a limited number of suspects. This time it's not a house party but a ship, and it's Daisy's and Alec's honeymoon, and everything that can happen on a ship duly happens. There is sea-sickness, people falling overboard and even a rescue of ship-wrecked emigrants.
Among the passengers there are nice and nasty people, there are some love stories going on and the whole of it makes a very entertaining book. If you liked the first Daisy Dalrymple stories you'll definitely like this one, too.
