It has a lot of recipes...and lovely photos; which are great if you're a visual baker.
But it's very disappointing to read things like buy tinned custard. I mean I can understand buying clotted cream, but not custard. Surely you'd think that a recipe book would be able to tell you how to make custard. I know how to make custard...but that's not the point.
Same goes for pastry. I totally understand buying puff pastry, but not shortcrust pastry. That really should be a recipe worth printing. Once again, I know how to make shortcrust pastry...but that's not the point.
And when I see things like buy bread mix I really wonder who on earth wrote that and thought it was ok? Mixing yeast in water is too difficult these days? Shameful.
But all of that said...it had some lovely ideas. I look forward to trying them.
