The "magic city" par excellence in a series of itineraries especially studied to enable the discovering of the most hidden historical and artistic beauties. This handbook furnishes addresses, timetables, telephone numbers of restaurants, cafeterias, pubs, museums, galleries, and... the lot. It also shows colour views of the city's architecture, from Baroque to Cubism, as well as 24 pages of detailed maps. Keep it under your arm while walking around!

The book was not really usefull. For people who don't want to spend so much time in Prague, we were there for a long weekend, the book did not help so much. The maping system is most of the time misleading and the objects are not so easy to find out. There are few pictures and less indications. For example, we were looking for the communist museum, and we ended up at the National Museum because the instruction were not so clear. The addresses of the different objects are as well missing. We had with us a map of the city and that helped us a lot to find out where the objects were. Without a separate map the book would not help.

This was a great guide for Prague. Provided me with maps of places like St Vitus' Cathedral and Prague Castle that were hard to come by even at the ticket office for these places. I don't have much experience with other guidebooks, so I don't know how they would compare, but I found it personable, well-written, and full of useful information. It greatly enhanced my trip.

The Lonely Planet series are usually great books. This guide is no exception. It is definately suited for the budget traveller, so if you are flush with cash, you might want a guide book that will review the more up-scale establishments. If you are strapped for cash, this book will serve you well.
