What makes the book so precious? The direct and clear approach to comprehend and apply recent statistical methods (e.g. GAM(M)). Complex theories are presented in a non-mathematical style without laking the essential mathematical concepts. Since the nature of ecolocigal data is not always linear, homogenous and independent (chapter 2 of the book), the authors present the need as well as the means to handle ecological data in an appropriate way. Various case studies may inspire the reader to find the appropriate statistical model for his own data.
