5.0 von 5 Sternen Ground Breaking Book
Itzak Bentov was a man years ahead of himself, and this remarkable book offers a revolutionary image of conciousness, creation, and the universe. The first to understand and depict the vibrating universe and all matter as conciousness. Further recommended reading: "Buddhas Nature"; "ZELATOR"; "KYBALLION".

2.0 von 5 Sternen Interesting, and yet disappointing
The ideas presented and explored in this book are interesting and are worth the buy.

The arguments and justifications given to support the theories, on the other hand, are incorrect, misleading and baseless.

I wish the author had discussed his theories (that are based on physics as it is understood today) with a good physisist. This would have prevented the book...

I read this book almost 5 years ago and it still remains on the top of my "favorites" list. Although heavy reading at times it was worth the mental exercise. I often read over passages an enjoy being inspired all over again.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Why one immortal's wisdom makes mortal knowledg nought, 2. September 1999

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Stalking the Wild Pendulum: On the Mechanics of Consciousness (Taschenbuch)
i, a spiritual-based Native American was led to a store in search of "something". Once arrived, i found my eyes go to this text, as if pre-determined. i HAD to have it. In it, i found a soul-mate who answered questions i came upon only after. i still find i learn from him in my truly quiet and searching moments. The author was transcendant in his understanding, and his death was as natural as his coming. One reviewer has said he came to write this and then returned to where he came from. I believe this. A superior genius, his work is easy to read and non-technical. Literally, his wisdom makes mortal knowledge and techno-babble nought. Of thousands of texts I've encountered, I recommend this as I would my own. i LOVE Itzhak Bentov and am a better mortal by finding his text. I can't recommend it enough. Here You will find a great friend, and spiritual ally.

Itzhak Bentov came to Earth and wrote this book and then shortly thereafter was killed in a plane crash. The message he has to give is necessary for the seeker of truth. If you want a simple, concise, and scientifically-oriented discourse on the true nature of reality/consciousness, then this book is for you. -- Michael Estes --

5.0 von 5 Sternen A very informitave theory of the workings of consciousness, 14. März 1999

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Stalking the Wild Pendulum: On the Mechanics of Consciousness (Taschenbuch)
One of the best if not the best book I have read on the theory of consciousness. The Author takes the reader through the web of complications involved in nature, the universe and consciousness with great clarity. A book that should be easily understood by anyone with an interest in the above matters. I read the book about sixteen years ago and the thoughts have never left me. So much so that I want to read it over and over again.

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Stalking the Wild Pendulum: On the Mechanics of Consciousness (Taschenbuch)
One of only a handful of books I have ever read that carry its case in such a powerful manner. I am a retired academic and have read several hundred books of quality on philosophy, metaphysical propositions, quantum mechanics, etc. Few of them offered anything approaching a really new or viable approach to the dynamics of consciousness. This book is as unique in its approach to the subject matter as George Gamow's seminal work "One, Two, Three, Infinity". It is simply astonishing, to me, to read such a erudite presentation of such a challenging topic, produced by an, essentially, academically untrained intellect. Bentov was a priceless mind. I am saddened I will never have the opportunity to engage him in direct conversation

5.0 von 5 Sternen A brilliant excursion into higher consciousness, 17. Januar 1999
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Stalking the Wild Pendulum: On the Mechanics of Consciousness (Taschenbuch)
Bentov produced a profoundly subversive theory that completely undermines the materialistic monism that is the philosophical justification for the prevailing Euro-American worldview. If consciousness is the source of all things, then the hoarding of money and property is clearly pathological and, ultimately, self-destructive. Although not explicitly stated, Bentov's theory contains the basis of a moral order based on the the same notion expressed in Scopenhauer's famous essay "On the Foundation of Morality": "...that ONE individual should recognize in ANOTHER himself in his own true being...". That, however, is a heresy in terms of our prevailing wisdom, which is no wisdom at all.

5.0 von 5 Sternen the fusion of illusion, 4. Juli 1998
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Stalking the Wild Pendulum: On the Mechanics of Consciousness (Taschenbuch)
this is the sort of book that along with its companion "a cosmic trip" by the same author simply and eruditely cuts to ribbons the very fabric of the newton/cartesian paradigm of existance upon which western civilization is based. Stalking the Wild Pendulum can be understood and appreciated by the dumbest teenager - should be a secondary school text book. Frees the mind from nonsense and dogma with humor, compassion, and a highly evolved intelligence. No wonder Mr. Bentov was taken out ...
