5.0 von 5 Sternen For people interested in management and creative thinking, 4. Oktober 2014
`Creativity, Inc.' written by Ed Catmull, co-founder of Pixar Animation Studios, is a valuable look behind the scenes of the creation of the company that revolutionized the animation scene, endangering former undisputed primacy of Disney. In addition, this is a book about creativity and different management, which provides a lot of useful experiences and tips on running company in a different way that precisely therefore become synonymous with creativity and different corporate thinking. And then the success of Pixar company merely came as a logical sequence.

We often bump into books that talk about the success of particular companies and people which with more careful reading can be seen how much in the process of preparing books were embellished for the final image to look more beautiful. This is a different story, a reader has a sense from its beginning have impression of reading a sincere story in which both are presented the successful and unsuccessful, things - events that are exceptional, and those for whom it is unlikely that they could happen to such a serious company such as those that Toy Story was almost lost as a result of error in the computer system.

Although it is not formally divided, the book actually consists of two parts - the first, which is slightly shorter brings the story of Pixar history and their animation movies that have won numerous awards and raised the quality bar extremely high. In book second part, author introduces readers in some innovative management concepts that have been applied for the first time in this company, invented with the aim to inspire and encourage innovation and creativity, what they evidently succeeded.

Although this first part of book is great and will be welcomed by the many fans of Pixar animation masterpieces, the true strength of the book, however, comes with the second part because reader besides being exposed to very interesting concepts, they are quite reusable so the book can certainly be recommended to those who run their own companies and are interested in fostering creative thinking of their employees.

There are many interesting stories to be found inside from those which speak about going from the draft to the production of certain movies, to those that discuss for many readers probably some completely unknown facts such as the one how Steve Jobs was deeply involved in Pixar and his distinctive thinking and ideas helped the development of the company.

I like that the author didn't speak only using exaltation for the company they have been created, but spoke frankly about their faults and weaknesses; and it is through such stories he shows great ways to establish that there is a problem and what techniques and best practices they used to solve them which is extremely educative.

Without going into great detail I can only tell how great pleasure for most people would be to either work in such a company or sit at one of the meetings which are described in the book.

Al these are reasons why I can highly recommend `Creativity, Inc.' as a must read for people who work in management, for every fan of Pixar movies and anyone who wants to see how is looking creative process of those people who can be considered as one of the most creative people in the last 20 years of human history.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Einleuchtend und authentisch., 12. August 2014
Verifizierter Kauf(Was ist das?)
Klar und präzise, einleuchtend und authentisch. In sich schlüssig. Immer interessant.
