3.0 von 5 Sternen For believers or those teetering on the edge.
A short book by an eminent psychiatrist that is full of thought provoking material. However, other than the previous lives of the subject Catherine, none of the book is original, being in the main a re-enforcement of traditional reincarnation theories and often-stated mystical and new age thought. The book is beautifully written and conveys the passion and belief of...

Even though the part where it had been described how the reincarnation theory had been eliminated from the christian bible centuries ago this book is still one of the best "friends" in difficult lifetime situations. What has been part of the Buddhist believes, the reincarnation, is now proven also by Western cultures. Without being affected by religions this book is suitable for everybody to improve interpersonal relationships. This book should be a must read in any school in the world to make people open minded, to make the world better, to reduce hate and unfairness, to prevent wars, to bring trust and harmony amongst the people.

4.0 von 5 Sternen I May Have Finally Seen The Light But Then Again....., 4. August 2000
Believe it or not I was given ''guidance'' about finding this title on Amazon's website and as another reviewer points out the author neatly sidesteps the Christian/religious issues and concentrates solely on his well substantiated theories of regressive therapy. For me it was gem of a read which was similtaneously enthralling and evocative.
There were just so many statements that closely matched my own experiences that frankly I felt as though I could even BE Catherine but I was perturbed about the declaration from the Master Spirit about ''only God can punish.'' I have no religious leanings but seem to recall that it is well documented in Christian teachings that God does not punish and further on Weiss also makes a reference to one patient's encounter with hell stating that sometimes you get what you expect but it may not be real and these are two main reasons why, for me, in spite of my personal experiences doubts inevitably crept in.
How indeed can any of us prove that we have had the Masters' guidance unless we actually die, float into our next physical body, surf the net and review the book again!
The human brain can play the most dreadful tricks - in hospital and fed drugs against my will I endured an hallucinatory experience which was about as close to ''hell'' that I would ever want to get! Physiologically, human beings all have the same make up so it stands to reason that thousands of us would ''remember'' similar lives under hypnosis. The book enabled me to interpret my own experiences with greater clarity but the logical me still embraces doubts, not about the authenticity of Dr Weiss' studies - far from it - but about our entire comprehension of birth, death and ''life'' beyond the realms of our earthly existence.

4.0 von 5 Sternen I read it in spite of myself, 1. August 2000
Von
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives (Taschenbuch)
Picture this: a middle-aged, Ivy-League-trained psychiatrist hypnotizes an astonishingly gorgeous 28-year-old woman and ends up learning about her past lives. Lots of past lives. Right. So why couldn't I put the book down till I'd finished the whole thing? Well, I liked the idea that souls can travel through many lives together and get to make karmic choices in the process. I liked the idea that the point we're supposed to learn from all these experiences is the essential nature of "charity, hope, faith, love" (p. 85). I didn't like the prospect of lots more incarnations, though (this one I'm in now is exhausting enough).

I opened this book to "peek" at the beginning and before I knew it I had read the whole thing in a sitting. Fascinating story told simply and convincingly; you see the story unfold through his eyes. The words of the masters were profound and thought-provoking. I need a copy for my shelf!

To take the chance to get healed by the marvelous regression therapy is for many people the first step towards spiritual thinking. People who have seen their past lives with their own eyes stop believing in reincarnation - since they now KNOW with certainty about it. And like Brian Weiss describes in his book to know about your past lives is even more than curiousity but a chance to heal your body, mind and soul, to recover rapidly from symptoms that cannot be erased by any common therapies - just in one or a couple of sessions. And even more you get the chance to understand why things have to happen. You can communicate with spiritual guides and get answers that will change your life totally. It is like the beginning of a new age. In this book I found the confirmation of my work and I am very happy that Brian Weiss dared to publish his experiences despite of any resentiments. The number ob recensions and average evaluation shows that he is right.

Reading this book and getting confirmation that the experiences I have had my self is not fiction. I have in a previous life given birth to an inidian child Little Feather, through body harmony healing treatment. 18 months later I gave birth to my daughter and I recognized her as Little Feather, her present name is Dyveke i.e. Little Dove and she is my long ago Indian child from a previous life. The time of birth was the 7th of Oct hours 10.07! Which is quite rare! It is nice to observe that traditional trained health personel is seeing the path and the real reason for why people get ill. It is so important to treat the whole, body and soul is connected - and also further to previous lives. Going through regression with good guidiance like the one Dr.Weiss does is so important and healthy. Keep up your good work Dr. Weiss! PS could you send me my twin soule if he pops up? :-)

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives (Taschenbuch)
A journey through the untold mysteries of human existence. This book was both enlightening and encouraging in its revelations. Inspiring a purpose for our existence and answering many questions, that so few even dare to ask. I also found comfort in the fact that finally, a scientific approach may be taken to the realm of spirituality. Without the recognition of renoun, scientific minds in this arena, we could continue to flounder with our false hopes and ideals. Practicing denial instead of uncovering truths to reach the point of acceptance, forgiveness and continual growth. This book gave me hope, that some of my beliefs may not only be recognized, but even proven to be of true value. Thank you Dr. Weiss for sharing the knowledge you have been blessed to experience. I will continue to read your work.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Finding the "Meaning of Life", 5. Februar 1999
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives (Taschenbuch)
This book turned my life around 99%. I've lived in fear all my life. The biggest question, since I was a child, had always been "why am I here?". Not having this question answered has kept me from having any peace in my life. Now I know the "meaning of life" and knowing "God Loves Me" how can fear be a part of my life now? Upon reading this book many times and going to seminars to hear Dr. Weiss I am at peace with myself and have "found my soul". I shine from within and all who are in my space feel the warmth coming from me. Thank you God for bringing Dr.Weiss into my life. I am truly happy with this gift of life. How I live it will be "my" gift to Him.

5.0 von 5 Sternen You cannot put this book down!, 29. März 1999

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives (Taschenbuch)
Dr. Weiss's account is moving and compelling. Most people will not be able to put this book down until they've read it entirely.
Since reading this book I have experienced past-life regression therapy first hand. When I first read it I was completely skeptical and did not believe in reincarnation, but reading it kicked off a several year process in which I was forced to reevaluate the belief systems that I had been force-fed since childhood. I began to seek answers to some hard questions that most people are terrified to even ask themselves.
Even if you walk away in disbelief, I think you will enjoy this book.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great book!!!, 28. Mai 1999
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives (Taschenbuch)
I thought this book was great. It was so great, I want Brian Weiss to be my therapist! This patient in the book reminds a lot about me. I have a lot of fears, and I think I was raped and murdered in some of my past-lives. I'm extremely shy. I'm 28 years old and never had a boyfriend. I'm just terribly shy. I know that if I go into hypnosis and talk about my past-lives, I will be better. I will feel better. How can I contact this author, Brian Weiss? Is he still alive? I hope so! You can write me at: KClark3858@aol.com if you have any info to give me.
