5.0 von 5 Sternen This book is a must read!, 20. Oktober 1998

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Homecoming: Reclaiming and Healing Your Inner Child: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child (Taschenbuch)
If you are tired of going around in circles with addictions, self conflicts and other things that have developed from your childhood.... this book is for you. John Bradshaw shows us how we have come to be in the place we are in at this stage of life. He shows how to stop the cycles of repeating the same negative things over and over. He shows how we all played a roll in the family and where we might have been in that roll. Why we are alcholics.. care takers... over achivers... or other addictions in life. He helps us to tune into that small self that still remains in us... even as adults. His technic of using the inner child to write with the non-perdominate hand is something unique in it's nature. He takes us from toddler stage thru to the self we are today. This book covers all kinds of things that have happened to many in life... like abandonment issues... children of alcholics and the roll each individual plays... the sexually abused... and many other issues that many of us have today. If you are wanting to stop the cycle and live a more productive and positive way? If you are willing to work at seeing how and why you came to be where you are now? Then this book is for you. It is of a greater benifit to have a counsler. Hoping this books helps all as much as it has helped me! Many wishes of campassion and happiness to all!

5.0 von 5 Sternen A new beginning in Western Culture, 31. Dezember 1999
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Homecoming: Reclaiming and Healing Your Inner Child: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child (Taschenbuch)
We tend not to recognize, after a time, the inventors of a seizmic shift in consiousness or perspectivethat reverberates for decades for an entire people. After a time, we come to believe that a movement, not advanced by war or the economic equivalent of such tyranny, was something that was simply meant to be. We will even begin to give credit to the erstwhile disciples of the movement- those who ride the crest of a preexisting wave- in a search for who to acknowledge; in part from a fear of believing an individual can in fact change the world so profoundly with insight, creativity and generosity.
John Bradshaw's HOMECOMING is such a work, and he is such a man. His ideas have long since become the stuff of trivialization, as the buzz phrase "inner child" has been drained of its marketable exploitation and appeal. And yet that trivialization has been a response to the degree to which we are now intellectually and emotionally living in his world.
I rank this book as one of the most important written during this now ending twentieth century. Make no mistake, our concerns about something as seemingly unrelated as child labor practices in India and China today, and how much we care about it now (when it has existed for centuries, just like here) can be traced back in part back to Bradshaw's influence in how we see the life of children, and subsequently the inner and outer life of adults- ourselves.
Its effect on the world as we know it will be felt for years to come, long after it has been forgotten or redefined as a late eighties/early nineties pop psychology fad.
Do not be surprised by the books and authors, living and dead, of a multiplicity of disciplines, you find yourself drawn to after reading this. Do not also be surprised at how well it teaches you about who you are, and how deeply it touches your soul.

5.0 von 5 Sternen This audio version is a great way to begin to heal!, 17. Oktober 1999

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Homecoming (Hörkassette)
After listening to this audio series, I realized that I had suffered greatly as a child. This suffering was, in part, do to my parents' inability to be good models and their parents before them. This series helps you to learn how to end the cycle and progress as an individual. I needed the regression therapy (my term)and techniques on learning how to get in touch with those child-like emotions again. I highly recommend this to anyone who has feelings of inadequacy or unknown fear. John Bradshaw is amazing!!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Fantastically Helpful Book - A Must Read!, 3. Juni 2000
Von Ein Kunde
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Homecoming: Reclaiming and Healing Your Inner Child: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child (Taschenbuch)
Wow! Bradshaw picks up where his book, "Healing the Shame That Binds You" left off. He helps the reader to identify problems that arose out of his/her family setting and/or traumatic settings in early life. He then goes on to explain how one's past may well be having a negative impact on their CURRENT, adult life. Finally he helps the reader to eliminate and neutralize those negative impacts and truly become a whole and complete adult. If you find that your life is still going around in circles after reading Healing the Shame that Binds you, then you NEED this book! It is LOADED with pratical information and application. (If it doesn't become required reading for therapist courses abroad I'll be very suprised. It is fantastic! ) No..you are NOT a screw up according to Bradshaw.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A superb groundwork for discovering your inner child., 16. März 1999

The author describes with great clarity how to help heal the wounded child within us.
He details the child's developmental stages from birth through adulthood and describes how we come to abandon who we are when confronted with a dysfunctional family setting.
Several questionaires and exercises guide you to your destination. Instructions are given for working alone, with a partner, or with a group.
I suggest reading through the book once and starting the work when rereading.
Enjoy!

Lifesaving words for which I will be ever grateful. This should be required reading for every parent, future and past, and teachers as well. I know my students appreciate my having read this book. I've taught early childhood for fifteen years, and I believe this should be a required book for all education students. Thanks John Bradshaw!

If you liked this book Check out Your Magic Garden: A Guide to Discovering Your Life Work. Both books talk about the child within and how we can find our power and ourselves with our inner child. Your Magic Garden is an illustrated book for adults! It is about the difference between having a life and life having us. Check it out!

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Homecoming: Reclaiming and Healing Your Inner Child: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child (Taschenbuch)
Upon reccomendation, I've read this book and found that about 90 percent of us need to read it. It focuses on exactly what the title says, reclamining and rebuilding your inner child. Before reading this book I thought inner child work was a bunch of bull. This book has completely changed my mind and is changing my heart.
