I read this in 2 days, it was fun and romantic. Richard and Jessica were worlds apart yet somehow they had such chemistry. I loved the idea, although not original it had some unique twists and great humor on Jessica part. Only complaint would be to have it slighty more erotic, oh well maybe the next one.

This is the first book of Lynn Kurland's I've ever read, and I was impressed with the lightheartedness and humor her characters possess. I thought the time travel theory was a little farfetched, but hey, it's supposed to be I guess. I loved the heroine, Jessica Blakely in this novel. I must admit that at first she kind of annoyed me, but by the end of the book I was wishing for more of her sharp wit and commentary. I also loved the hero, Richard. He was the perfect match for Jessica, and it was great fun to see their romance evolve into something wonderful. I like the fact that these two characters grew within the novel and changed into better people. Jessica wasn't as reliant on material things and was more self sufficient and stronger than when the book began. Richard, even more so, by becoming more open to the idea that women weren't just to fulfill the needs of men. The one thing I didn't like about this book was the villain. I tended to skip the parts when Richard's brother Hugh was taking over the chapter. They seemed like obnoxious interruptions into Jessica and Richard's story.

...THE MORE I WANT YOU...,

Rezension bezieht sich auf: The More I See You (Taschenbuch)
This is a light-weight time travel, historical romance novel that is laced with humor. While the writing is somewhat pedestrian and there is little character development, the story can carry the day, despite some of the historical detail being a bit questionable. The reader need only suspend disbelief to get some enjoyment out of this whimsical book. When Jessica Blakely, a modern day miss, finds herself mysteriously transported in time to thirteenth century England, little did she know that it would be there that she would meet the man who was to be the love of her life, Richard De Galtres. He is a noble knight who has hardened his heart against love due to his harsh upbringing by a brutal father, until fate conspires to have Richard and Jessica meet and fall in love. How they overcome their differences, as Richard learns to cope with a modern woman and Jessica learns to cope with a medieval man, makes for a story that those who like reading time travel, historical romance novels will enjoy. A Delightful Time-Travel Medieval!,
Rezension bezieht sich auf: The More I See You (Taschenbuch)
In the tradition of Deveraux's Knight In Shining Armour, Lynn Kurland's THE MORE I SEE YOU is a wonderful tale about a modern woman and a medieval warrior who fall in love, but seem fated to live apart due to time and circumstance. As usual, I got totally swept up into this story -- Kurland knows how to pull the heartstrings! I do wish her books were more sensual, but she's getting better and the emotional sensuality is always there.Filled with humor, emotion, and exciting twists and turns, this is a great book and one I highly recommend! I was so pleased that some of the characters from her other books were included in this story. I loved reading about Kendrick before his story in Stardust of Yesterday. You will love Richard and Jessica. Jessica wishes upon a star for a man who would love her as much as he loves himself. She finds herself transported through time to 1260 where she meets Richard. She stayes at Richard's unfinished castle, marries him when she is wounded and then leaves him when she discovers he is to marry the King's god niece. She manages to get back to her own time. Richard is desolate when he finds Jessica gone. He goes back home wishing her back on a star just as she told him it was the way she got there in the first place. Then suddenly a mist appears out of nowhere. This is a beautiful love story that will make you laugh and cry. Buy it, you won't be disapointed. Well done again Lynn.

I really enjoyed this book. OK, so I am still not clear about how Kurland's time travel theory works -- I guess I like to see something more substantial than just wishing. I loved Richard myself. This book is sensual without being smutty -- sex is not described in graphic detail. I would feel comfortable recommending this book to my high school students. The medieval details were authentic and accurate. This book rates above most romance novels I have read.

This book was the first one I have read so far from Lynn Kurland - and not the last one! The way how the story is written is brilliant, the dialogues between Richard and Jessica are great and made me laugh loud several times. I liked this story because it's written in a way which makes you consider the possibility of time travelling - if one only wishes intensive enough! Great idea!

Rezension bezieht sich auf: The More I See You (Taschenbuch)
One of my favorite books of all time is Lynn Kurland's This is All I Ask. One of my least favorite books ever is Kurland's Another Chance to Dream. While The More I See You doesn't match the poignancy and feeling of the former, it (thankfully) doesn't drown the reader in bleakness like the latter, and I found it an enjoyable read, with lots of wit and tender moments. Jessica Blakely is a successful composer and musician who yearns for the magic of love. At the moment, unfortunately, she is stuck in England, wearing medieval clothes for a party at a castle, and accompanied by a dull suitor who wants to be her knight in shining armor. Literally. Wishing upon a star to find her a man who loves her, Jessica's walk around the castle lands her in the 13th century, startling both her and the party of men who want the "fairie" dead on the spot. One of the men is Richard de Galtres, a dark and brooding knight who saves Jessica from the rest of the group. Despite Jessica's strange accent and speech, the men end up believing that she is related to the King. They think she is babbling incoherently because she hit her head when she fainted, so they take her back to Burwyck-on-the-Sea, Richard's ancestral home. Once there, Jessica and Richard begin to get on each other's nerves, and much to their respective dismay, a mutual attraction begins to grow. While Jessica adjusts to life without 20th-century comforts, she begins to appreciate the man hidden underneath Richard's gruff exterior; the discoveries she makes about his past help put some of the pieces of the puzzle together, and she finds herself yearning for a mere smile from him. For Richard, the endlessly annoying woman who claims to be from another time becomes a necessity to him, which he realizes when he nearly loses her to a traitor's blade. As he tries desperately to close her wound with a red-hot knife, the only way to take Jessica's mind off the pain is to distract her with the betrothal ceremony. Although this results in the couple's being bound by law, they are nonetheless unsure of the other's feelings. There is a lot of humor in this book. Jessica starts off unwilling to compromise on her notions of modern behavior and can get a little too cutesy with her American slang, but she means well, and in the end, she gets exactly what she deserves: A man who adores her, even though he might not understand everything about her. Richard, could have been your typical, brooding, tortured hero. Instead he is a likeable wounded soul - Kurland can write those like few authors can - and he very slowly and very carefully begins to accept that this is the woman who has conquered his heart. Characters from other Kurland books make their appearance here, one even meets his demise, but if you've read Stardust of Yesterday, you know that everything turns out well in the end - I only wish Richard and Jessica had known as well. If you're in the mood for a (mostly) light read with lots of humor, you might want to try The More I See You. Helfen Sie anderen Kunden bei der Suche nach den hilfreichsten Rezensionen
