4.0 von 5 Sternen Nightcreature series
Another great book in the Nightcreature series. There wasn't as much werewolf to this one but alot of voodoo and zombies. Which was a nice change!

I am looking forward to reading the next book Rising Moon

After the disappointing 'Crescent Moon' this book was again a pleasure to read. Werewolves are only an aside in this instalment, instead we get Voodoo, Zombies and Cat People. The book ties heavily into 'Crescent Moon' (in fact it practically picks up where that left off), so while it not may be not necessary to have read 'Crescent' beforehand it sure helps to know what happen in it. And here lies one of the weaknesses of 'Midnight Moon' that ultimately prevented it from getting four stars from me:
The first half of the book makes a lot of mentions about the occurrences in 'Crescent' scattered throughout the chapters, I would rather have had a rundown of the events in a single chapter and then be done with it. Another point that grated on me is the male lead, Devon Murphy, he does not come across as stupid and phoney sounding as Adam Ruelle from the former book did, but he's described with having a habit of changing accents every once in a while which both gets annoying pretty fast and does make him sound somewhat dumb. But apart from that Lori is back at her game in old glory. Madenauer is as trigger-happy as ever, and Priestess Cassandra (female lead of this book and supporting cast of the last) is a far more likeable character than Diana was (last books lead and this books support). Her quest to learn how to raise the dead in order to be able to raise her dead child to the living again adds enough tension and drama to the story to keep it interesting.
It's again a well executed novel manages to strike a nigh perfect balance between the paranormal and the romance, no aimless meandering in this volume or unprecedented last chapter plot twists.
