not as good as Script one. Fellows gets a bit headmasterly and full of himself
am 17. März 2014
In my view the scripts are so valuable because of Julian Fellowe's notes. In this book, there are enen more than in the Script for Season 1. This is good. However, Julain Fellows gets a bit carried away in as he is beginning to point out a bit too often, how marvellous a certain text passage is. After a while I even got irritated with his: "this is a real Downton Abbey moment", which means that viewers will be torn between two views one can take on that person's actions. Yes, these do make Downton Abbey special, but who created these scenes? Exactly. So Fellowes tells the reader again and again how clever he was in creating these moments. Well, that is superfluous and certainly no reason to buy the book. Apart from that, the script is wonderful for those who want to learn a bit more about the background of the stories, expressions used etc.
