Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende

I’m Michal Stawicki and I live in Poland, Europe. I’ve been married for over 12 years and am the father of two boys and one girl. I work full time in the IT industry, and recently, I've become an author. My passions are transparency, integrity and progress.

In August 2012, I read a book called "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson. It took me a whole month to start implementing ideas from this book. That led me to reading numerous other books on personal development, some effective, some not so much. I took a look at myself and decided this was one person who could surely use some development.

In November of 2012, I created my personal mission statement; I consider it the real starting point of my progress. Over several months time, I applied several self-help concepts and started building inspiring results: I lost some weight, greatly increased my savings, built new skills and got rid of bad habits while developing better ones.

I'm very pragmatic, a "down to earth" person. I favor utilitarian, bottom-line results over pure artistry. Despite the ridiculous language, however, I found there is value in the "hokey-pokey visualization" stuff and I now see it as my mission to share what I have learned.

My books are not abstract. I avoid going mystical as much as possible. I don't believe that pure theory is what we need in order to change our lives; the Internet age has proven this quite clearly. What you will find in my books are:

- detailed techniques and methods describing how you can improve your skills and drive results in specific areas of your life

- real life examples

- personal stories

So, whether you are completely new to personal development or have been crazy about the Law of Attraction for years, if you are looking for concrete strategies, you will find them in my books. My writing shows that I am a relatable, ordinary guy and not some ivory tower guru.

4.0 von 5 Sternen simpel und doch effektiv 27. August 2014
Von Boris
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf

4.0 von 5 Sternen Good For Newcomers In Speed-reading! 6. November 2013
Von Dr. Johnson C. Philip - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I picked up speed-reading about 3 decades ago, and life has never been the same after that! As a result, I have been recommending speed-reading to my counselees frequently, and even the other day someone asked me if I can point to a good book. Thus I keep reading every speed-reading book that comes my way so that I can recommend the latest good book to them.

I read this book with great attention and enjoyed reading it. I particularly love the way the author has developed a 10-minute-a-day plan as opposed to older writers who demand one or more hours per day -- which is no longer practical for the modern reader. This is the good point in the book and for that I recommend this book.

At the same time, the author spends an inordinate time sharing this testimony, explaining this and that, which are not directly relevant to the subject. This could have been avoided, and that space could have been given to much-needed exercises that he could have added. This criticism should not be taken to mean that the book is bad, but rather that it can, and ought to be, improved upon.

At the end the author gives URLs of a number of very useful speed-reading related websites along with his comments. This section would be very useful for everyone. Over-all, here is an introductory level book that will benefit novices to speed-reading. I recommend it.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Learn to Read with Great Speed! Only 10 minutes a day! 25. Oktober 2013

What I appreciated about this book was the author's honesty about speed reading and his encouragement to do better than he did! I also loved the fact that he used his son as a guinea pig with such fantastic results! Most children who do poorly in school or hate to read, do so because they are so slow at reading. Michal S. is correct when he says that speed reading should be taught in schools at an early age! Recommended!

4.0 von 5 Sternen A great place to start to learn how to speed read 5. August 2014
Von Reg Nordman - Veröffentlicht auf

I have been a student of speed reading for over 50 years. I have taken extensive training, been a teacher of it and use it every day. Michaels ebook is a very succinct yet well presented summary of the obstacles to faster reading and it provides a program that anyone can use. Its a great place to start to improve your reading speed.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Practical exercises 16. August 2014

It's a nice short book to get you up to speed with speed reading. I've read some topics before on the internet, but never found any help in how to train stopping sub vocalization. In this book there are some good tips, like counting in your head while speed reading or humming. It's worth the read.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Highly recommended for learning to read faster and with better comprehension! 1. September 2014
Von David Troolin - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition
This author is open about his need for learning to read faster, and his testimony shows how the methods he outlines really help him to read faster. I like his philosophy, that daily practice, even if only for ten minutes a day, doing the right things, can yield huge benefits! I think a key misunderstanding to those who downplay speed reading is that it means you read faster but comprehend less, but the author shows that often there are barriers to reading that if removed, such as sub-vocalization, will actually improve both speed and comprehension.
