This book was the first book I read from the "Very Short Introduction"-Series and I found it very fascinating how many facts you can put in such a short book.
I read this book to brush up my long lost knowledge about dinosaurs which I once had, when I was in primary school. Like most of the other boys I was fascinated by these giant animals.
David Norman wrote a very informative book, which is funny and entertaining as well. I wished more of the German scientific literature would be like this. I highly recommend this book. However, don't be mistaken as this book deals rather with the scientific history of dinosaurs, their environment and their physiology. It does not provide an overview of all the dinosaurs there were or any details about them. Apart from Iguanodon which Norman took as an example to show the history of the discovery and the reconstruction of these big animals up to today.
