The Psychology of the Internet von Patricia Wallace
The Psychology of the Internet von Patricia Wallace
5.0 von 5 Sternen Still a Masterpiece, 4. August 2008
Can you write a book on social and psychological aspects of the internet which is not outdated 10 years after publication? Patricia Wallace manages the impossible. Written before the turn of the century, the book carefully describes and draws conclusions on internet behaviour and interaction. The observation that the advances and changes of the last decade have little impact on the findings are supportive of their validity and strength.

It's also entertaining to read and accessible for the non-psychologist. Recommended.

Ein kurzweilig zu lesendes Büchlein, das in mühelosem Ton die Realität virtueller Welten und Existenzen darstellt und betrachtet, eine stimulierende Collage von Gedanken und Ausführungen zum Thema. Sehr lesenswert.
Psychological Aspects of Cyberspace: Theory, Resea&hellip von Azy Barak
With pleasure I read this excellent collection on state of the art surveys on psychological aspects of the internet. The chapters are of very high quality and very comprehensive. The content ranges from motivational aspects of wikipedia participation over internet abuse and privacy issues to the use of the internet for psychotherapy and for conducting research.

Written mainly for the researcher and for students, the book is relatively dry to read, but at the same time it remains accessible even for the non-psychologist. It contains a wealth of information for anybody interested in the impact of the internet on our society.
