I didn't enjoy this book. It was very long and slightly disturbing throughout but I continued reading hoping for a nice turn and a happy end. There is none.

I love Kate Morton's books and this one isn't an exception. No matter how much you think you know the storyline and what happens next, the end just takes you by surprise. The only mistake I made (this has happened before with another of her books, I'm just not learning), is that I read the book before going to bed and I couldn't sleep because I was trying to figure out the storyline. I thought the middle bit may have been a bit long, but only because I thought I had the story line figured out (which I hadn't). In my opinion it becomes better the more you get towards the end and every chapter will reveal something new. I can definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a bit of mystery… Mehr dazu

3.0 von 5 Sternen ok, but not her best, 16. Dezember 2012
I have read other Kate Morton books and loved them, so this one was a must read as well. I found it a bit slow and it never got me fully going and enthralled. I continued to read on as I wanted to know the end (although it wasn't as much of a surprise) and just don't like not finishing books. I do like the way the story goes back and forth over decades, but it just wasn't captivating enough and also the close of the book not as thrilling as I was hoping. I probably wouldn't buy this book again and I don't think I'll reread it.
