I used the equivelent of this book in an upper-division Spanish class that I took; I found it truly broadens the vocabulary tremendously. I feel, however, that both of these workbooks, although useful, require a foundation in the syntax of the language for full appreciation of what the authors/editors are trying to do. However, the exercises may be completed without the background. Especially useful for preparation for travelling and specialized vocabulary (ie. computer, car, etc. etc.)
