Accurate, clear and enjoyable. Three ingredients necessary for cutting through the fog of yesteryear's grandiloquent, ho-hum reference works. Connelly offers a general overview of each Bible book and sets a context allowing the passage to make sense. Like, the passage MAKES SENSE because we know who, what, why and where! Doug provides the skeleton on which the story comes to life revealing the intended meaning of the authors to farmers, kings and Internet surfers. In covering three huge bases, Connelly hits a home run!

YES! Lonely Planet continues to show us the trail others have blazed! I have used Lonely Planet guides extensively while traveling the interior of West Africa.
