This little gimmick of book, a small paperback, is totally unorganized, with phony section titles imposed on random photos, so that we have "Men in the Sun," "Men Cooling Off," "Men in the Water," etc. The actual photos in those different sections prove underwhelming vis-a-vis these grandiose designations. Whoever rushed to get this book out would have done better just to present the photos contiguously, but that would have denied the opportunity to use two filler pages per section. It took me about five minutes to flip through and get a sense of all of the photos in this little pamphlet of a book.

If you came here looking for something erotic, look elsewhere. Amazingly, Veronique Vial takes an inherently sexy idea and manages to neuter it. And I don't think it shows undue prurient interest on my part to have expected something sexy from these photographs of (sometimes) gorgeous men going about their morning business. We get them looking tired, cranky, disheveled and ponderous, but not sexy. We get them making coffee and brushing their teeth and eating their eggs, but damnit, we don't get them sexy. I share the other reviewersÕ enthusiasm for this book and will no doubt continue to use it from time to time. ThereÕs a sound idea here, and IÕm surprised no one thought of enhancing cake mixes with added ingredients until now.
What disappointed me was the authorÕs exclusion of old favoritesÑ even the obvious ones Ñ at the expense of too much variety and too much innovation. The cookbook author in her got the best of her and decided to eschew old standards like yellow cake with chocolate frosting (who doesnÕt like that?) or white cake with chocolate frosting (ditto). Instead, we get less crowd-pleasing combinations such as lemon and chocolate or less kid-friendly… Mehr dazu
