Verifying your e-mail address

Why do I need to verify my e-mail address?

We ask you to verify your e-mail address for your security and to ensure that you receive your subscriptions in a timely manner. It also ensures that the e-mails we send you are solicited, i.e. you have "opted-in" to receive subscription e-mails from Amazon.de. You will only need to confirm your e-mail address once.

We ask all customers to complete e-mail verification, even if they have been Amazon customers for a long time.

What if I change my e-mail address later?

If you update the e-mail address associated with your Amazon.de account via the Amazon.de website, we'll send a verification e-mail (in German) to the your new address. Click the link in the e-mail to confirm this is your e-mail address and that you have chosen to receive Amazon.de subscription e-mails at this address.

I haven't received my verification e-mail

Please double check the e-mail address you provided to ensure it is correct. Sometimes, due to high internet traffic, it may take a while before you receive the verification e-mail. If it's more than 15 minutes since you expected to receive the e-mail, check your junk mail folder (also known as the "spam" or "bulk" folder). Look for a message from the sender "Amazon.de E-Mail-Abonnements".

If the e-mail still doesn't arrive, restart the e-mail verification process and we'll send another verification e-mail.

I received an e-mail asking me to confirm my e-mail address even though I wasn't expecting it. Should I be concerned?

You may get a request from Amazon.de to confirm your e-mail address if you have ever opted-in to receive an e-mail newsletter in the past, or if you change your e-mail address after signing up for an e-mail subscription. If you haven't signed up for any e-mail subscriptions at Amazon.de, you can ignore e-mails asking you to confirm your e-mail address.

You should only click the "Bestätigen" (Confirm) button if you were expecting to receive the e-mail. If you accidentally click the "Bestätigen" button and sign-up to receive subscription e-mail from Amazon.de, you can unsubscribe via Amazon.de. If you suspect that an e-mail you received was not actually sent by Amazon.de, please report the e-mail to Amazon.de.

Why haven't I received any e-mails?

If you haven't received any e-mails, please check the following:

  • Confirm that you haven't chosen to receive only the most essential communication from Amazon.de. You can check this on your account page "Mein Konto" by clicking on the link "E-Mail-Benachrichtigungen" and ensuring that the very last check box on the bottom of the page "" is unchecked. If the box has been checked, your e-mail subscriptions will be automatically disabled.
  • Is your e-mail address still verified? Did you change it recently? You can check your status at the Your E-mail Subscriptions page, Ihre E-Mail-Abonnements.
  • Does your inbox have enough free space? New messages to your e-mail account may not be getting through.
  • Check your junk mail folder (also known as your "bulk" or "spam" folder) to see if Amazon.de e-mails are being routed to it.

How can I stop Amazon.de e-mails being routed to my junk mail folder?

Anti-spam software can sometimes block legitimate e-mails. To ensure that your e-mail subscriptions always reach your inbox, you can "white-list" e-mails from Amazon.de, i.e. tell your spam filter to let messages from Amazon.de through.

The method for white-listing varies depending on your e-mail software. Often, you can add the address in the "From" line of your most recent subscription e-mail to your Address Book (Adressbuch). Alternatively, add the Amazon.de domain to your safe senders list or mark it as "not spam". Please refer to the documentation for your e-mail software or contact your Internet Service Provider for instructions on how to white-list messages from trusted senders.

Managing your e-mail subscriptions

How do I see which e-mail subscriptions I am signed-up for?

Go to Ihre E-Mail-Abonnements ("Your E-mail subscriptions") to see all e-mail subscriptions that you are currently receiving. You can read the description for each e-mail subscription by clicking on the name. You can also use that page to unsubscribe from one or all of your current e-mail subscriptions.

I love e-mails from Amazon.de telling me about products and artists I like. How do I get more?

You can search for e-mail subscriptions by browsing our entire list. We will be expanding our selection of great e-mail subscriptions over time.

I get too many e-mails already. Will signing up for e-mail subscriptions overwhelm my inbox?

You can choose the volume of e-mail that you are comfortable receiving from Amazon.de. Most e-mail subscriptions are sent out once a month. You can start by signing-up for only one or two e-mail subscriptions. If you don't like any of them, click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every e-mail we send out. You'll get one last notification e-mail confirming the change in your selection, but that's it--you'll stop receiving that particular subscription.

If you love our newsletters but you don't want them in your inbox, try setting up a "mail filter" or "mail processing rule" to automatically move messages from Amazon.de into a folder of their own. Please refer to the documentation for your e-mail software, or contact your Internet Service Provider for instructions on how to create rules.
