We've been using this milk throther for over a month now and we are happy with it.
We use it roughly 20 times per week and with only 3.5% fat milk. We used to use the 1.8% as recommended, but we found that the foam is too dry and too stiff for our taste. We prefer a creamy milk, with just enough air in it to give it a smooth texture yet keep it fluid. For this, thd 3.5% fat milk is the best.
We found that making more than two cups worth of throth means that not all the milk was throthed and still leaving some normal (warmed) milk at the bottom below the throthed milk. Thus, even though one can add more milk into it, only a certain amount of it will get throthed. Perhaps one needs to add a small metal spring ontop of the plastic throthing wheel in the middle if more air is required for large quantities of milk.
It is not possible to throth cacao as the milk only gets warm and never gets any air into it. We suspect it is because of the cacao powder breaking down the air bubble texture and simply leaving a mixed warm cacao milk.
We are overall very happy with this device as it saves us time and energy.
