5.0 von 5 Sternen Super Display, 4. Dezember 2012

So let's go into English! Super book. No glossy photos here from models doing stupid exercises with expensive equipment. Just good ol' gym exercises like I used to do at school back in the UK.

Prior to buying this book I was doing a regular amount of press-ups and simple exercises every day, but this little gem has enabled me to move up a notch or two. It really is amazing how many useful things you have in your home that help you to get and keep you fit. I promise you you will never look at another case of "Roßbacher"water in the same way again. Do ten reps with a full case everyday and you will notice the difference in no time! I even use my two children to help with my work-outs. They weigh about 18 to 20kg each so they work pretty well for the arm exercises and laugh their heads off at the same time too. And even my wife is hooked and says that some exercises are similar to the ones from her pilates.

I also bought the iPhone App (under 2 Euro) and it is an absolute gem. It allows you to plan exactly your own work-outs and exercises easily and effectively. And the girl in the App photos is a dream too!

All in all a super book and App which I recommend to anyone wanting to get fit or maintain/increase their fitness. Buy it and try it. You wont regret it.

PS. Ich bin 46 und habe nicht viele Zeit, weil ich oft unterwegs bin. Mit dem Buch und App hat man alles was man braucht.

I have to admit in advance that I am Apple fan. I saw my first Mac (Mac SE twin floppy drives no HD) in 1986 when I got a job selling them to printers, design studios etc for an Apple Dealer in the UK. I taught myself how to use it in a few days and never looked back. I went through all the Apple ups and downs over the next 20+ years so I also have a pretty good idea of Apple with and without Steve Jobs. I have also read a great deal about him and the company including books from John Sculley et al.

This book misses some of the goods things that came out of Apple in the post Jobs era such as the FX, LC and System 7. All of these plus a few other things were pretty good and System 7 was ahead of its time and offered many great features. But this is not the main idea behind the book and many other books cover these subjects much better. Also these things are of course a matter of taste and the same applies to current Apple products too. I liked the FX, LC and System 7. That simple.

Back to the book! It is great and it really goes behind the scenes to give a human face to the founder and head of Apple. It is not always kind to Steve Jobs and I often found myself thinking that here is a truly horrible and nasty person who has some serious issues! But you still can't help liking him and what he created. The fact that he died so young (relatively speaking) it some way goes to show how right he was about his passion and desire to get things done properly. Things may have been different if he thought he had more time or if he was more forgiving.

I cannot guarantee that you will like its main character as at times he is not very likeable. But it gives a fascinating insight to him, Apple and many other people (many of them unsung heroes of the IT age) and what they created.

A warts and all book showing the human side of a man looking back on his life while facing death. Moving and insightful.

The best and funniest book I have ever read about my fellow countrymen. It hits the spot, albeit a little hard sometimes. Anyone who has spent anytime in England will know exactly what this is all about.

An excellent story. Well told and fast paced. My only complaint would be that there are some gaps that could be filed. Such as how he the "girl", we just hear about him seeing her, then many pages later she is at his side. No explanation. The same applies to his fab 10,000 sq ft appartment. That he earns alot of money is clear, but it jumps from him staring at the hedge fund , doing "mundane" daily trading to suddenly having this massive pad. A little more info would have been nice.

On the whole, well written and entertaining. Just what this sort of book is about.

Exceptional Selling: How the Best Connect and Win in High Stakes Sales

I am of fan of Jeff Thull (and also work for one of the companies mentioned inside) and could therefore be considered biased, but that aside, this book is simply outstanding. To readers of his previous book "mastering the complex sale" some of what is contained in this book is already news. What Jeff Thull manages here is to expand on the themes covered previously and offer new ideas, approaches and insights.

This book should be a standard read for all sales people and sales managers. Read it, follow it and enjoy.
