5.0 von 5 Sternen Mitreißende J-Pop/J-Rock Mischung, 29. November 2010

Februar 2008
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Without Reservations (Taschenbuch)
"Without reservations" is a novell set in a gothic-fiction background, containing werewolves. The storyline itself is twofold, for one the meeting of the two protagonists and the description how their relationship evolves. As secondary story, some troubles evolve for the couple-to-be due to the werewolf background of both protagonists.
However the werewolf background remains just that, a background upon which the primary story of two highly individual characters meeting and beginning to form a relationship is set. While being omnipresent, it remains a tool of the author to flavour the story and add some interesting spins as well as a bit of thrill to it. Who is looking for a story mainly set about werewolves and a world of darkness may be disappointed as this is not the main attraction of the novell, making it no less entertaining for that.
The primary story of the two main characters meeting might not offer tremendous depth, however the fine description of the two personalities clashing and both characters trying to figure out how to establish a working relationship is enriched by highly entertaing and witty dialogues and situations. In the past, I have encountered few other books having me laughing out loud as many times as this one did.
While both protagonists encounter the usual bunch of problems to be expected from a gay romance novell, no terrible dramas develop, leaving the book a light and highly entertaining read.
In addition the more erotic passages - for those interested - are nicely crafted and quite sufficient in number.
All in all, I am quite fond of this book and looking forward to read it a second, third and most likely forth time. Those looking for a light read on a nicely crafted, funny and somewhat erotic gay romance flavoured with a bit of supernatural spice should be will adviced in purchasing this book.
