Olaf Haensch's book arrived today in the United Kingdom - wow! It is a superb book and a must for any German narrow gauge railway fan.

The quality of the photography is some of the best quality I have ever seen.

What makes the book so enjoyable is it is not just a train book - the photography gives you a taste of the wider area and the countryside the railway runs through. People are shown too as are a couple of shots inside the locomotive works - these images are very interesting.

My only criticism is it would have been better if the text was bilingual, i.e. in English as well as German; that way the book would have reached a far wide audience in the UK, USA and Australia - where there is an increasing amount of interest in the HSB.

Nevertheless it is a superb book and a valuable addition to my narrow gauge collection.

If you are a fan of the HSB and German narrow gauge as well as night photography this book is for you.
