2.0 von 5 Sternen I didn't really like it, 9. April 2000
This play was okay, but it wasn't anywhere as good as Hamlet and Macbeth. Romeo and Juliet didn't seem that believeable to me and I thought the way they couldn't bear being apart after only knowing each other for 3 days just didn't seem realistic. I know people married after only knowing each other that long back then but I don't think they could really be in love. The end was pretty good though.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Shakespeare's best, 9. April 2000
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Macbeth (Dover Thrift Editions) (Taschenbuch)
MacBeth is my favorite of all of Shakespeare's plays. Its great. The best part I think is when MacBeth is talking with the witches. I thought the fortunes for him were very clever and I thought it was cool how they all seemed impossible but came true. The speech MacBeth gives after he found out that his wife died the Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow one was great and moving. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is willing to read through all the olde English. It will be worth you're while.

3.0 von 5 Sternen Good but Depressing, 9. April 2000
I thought this book was very well written. I'm not sure if I'd go so far as to call it the Catcher in the Rye for our generation but was good. I can't honestly say I enjoyed it though. It was just too disturbing to be fun to read. Its one of those books that makes a very clear point, that teenagers, especially rich ones in California, are so warped by society they are beyond caring. I think that the message is too general to really be true. The only thing I didn't like about the way the book was written was once the shock value wore off, hearing about 11 year olds watching pornos and doing crack got a little repetious. So did the sex. But maybe that was what the author was going for.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great, 9. April 2000
Rezension bezieht sich auf: The Great Gatsby (Taschenbuch)
The Great Gatsby was a really good book. I thought the best part of the book though, wasn't the plot, even though that was interesting. I thought the best part of the book was the feel, the atmosphere. You could almost imagine the parties. This book seemed to sum up every thing great about the 20's and put an interesting plot with it. I loved what Daisy said about big parties being more personal than small ones. I thought it was really interesting.

3.0 von 5 Sternen Hinton's worst book, but even her worst isn't bad, 9. April 2000
Rezension bezieht sich auf: That Was Then, This Is Now (Taschenbuch)
That was Then, This is now was an alright book. Its plot was fairly interesting and it moved at a pretty good pace. I just didn't like any of the characters in it except for Ponyboy and he was only it for a little while. I'd still recommend this book to any one from about 12-500. I think maybe the only reason I didn't like it was because I read "The Outsiders" S.E. Hinton's best (In my opinion) and this wasn't even close to as good as it. It wasn't bad though.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great Read, 18. März 2000
Rezension bezieht sich auf: The Westing Game (Taschenbuch)
I really enjoyed reading this book. Even though it was confusing I loved. (The confusion was intentional and part of what made the book so good.) The characters were realistic and even though some of them seemed mean at the beginning through the course of the story the became more likable. This book was funny too. I'd definantly recommend it.

I had a really hard time getting into this book. I thought that the beginning was kind of boring. The book picked up though after Katy's accident and from then on it was really intresting. I liked the way Katy changed and grew up.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Okay when you're in 2nd grade, 18. März 2000
I read the Baby Sitters Club books when I was about eight or nine and I really enjoyed them. I agree with some of the other reviewers though. They don't depict realistic 13 year olds at all. The characters are very stereotypical and don't have much depth. The plots aren't very realistic either.
