It's Not about the Bike: My Journey Back to Life
It's Not about the Bike: My Journey Back to Life
von Lance Armstrong
  Gebundene Ausgabe

4.0 von 5 Sternen Cancer as a tool for transformation, 31. Juli 2000
Lance Armstrong in his book recounts the transformation that happened in his life out of finding out at age 25 that he had very advanced testicular cancer. Incredibly, he was able to beat very unfavorable odds and come through cancer free. The cancer in his case seems to have worked as a tool that helped him transform and wake up to the richness of his life. He discovered how loved and supported he was by his family and friends, he discovered and was able to appreciate the dedication and incredible talent of others who collaborated to save his life, he discovered his inner resources and his passion for living, he rediscovered his love for the Bike which he was taking for granted... Out of this experience he won the Big Price: Huge professional success and a very fulfilling and loving marriage. If you are interested in transformational experiences and in discovering the state of being where success, love, satisfaction, self expression and aliveness reside, I highly recommend that you also read the book WORKING ON YOURSELF DOESN'T WORK by Ariel and Shya Kane. This book is a gem and it delivers all the keys to personal transformation and enlightenment. I highly recommend it to anybody who, like Lance Armstrong, is willing to challenge the limits of what we think it is possible to make happen in our lives.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A Gem of A Book!, 6. Juli 2000
The book "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work" by Ariel and Shya Kane has had a major impact on my life and I recommend it to anybody who is looking to improve the quality of their life and is interested in discovering that state of being where satisfaction, self expression, aliveness and meaning reside. "Working on Yourself doesn't work" is a gem among self awareness books. A subtle mixture of ideas and narratives, it delivers, in a very unpretentious way, all the keys to personal transformation and enlightenment. All it takes is to be willing to hear (or read in this case!) that the great way to self realization and satisfaction is in fact "simple" and that self-realization and self-satisfaction are coexistent with our present state of being and are available right here in this moment of now.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A wonderful book, 6. Juli 2000
"Tuesdays with Morrie" is a book to be read by anybody who is interested in finding more satisfaction in their life. It reminds you of what it means "to be human" and encourages you to disconnect from the lures of our culture (money, material possessions, youth...) and reconnect with your spirit and what is essential to bring purpose and meaning to your life. Morrie who was stricken by a terminal illness also teaches us that if you do not resist the way your life shows up there is satisfaction in every moment of life no matter how challenging the circumstances. This essential message is taken further in the wonderful book "Working on yourself doesn't work" by Ariel and Shya Kane. "Working on Yourself doesn't work" is a gem among self awareness books. In a style very different from "Tuesday with Morrie", with a mixture of ideas and narratives, it delivers the keys to personal transformation and enlightenment. If your life is about discovering that state of being where satisfaction, self expression, aliveness and purpose reside don't hesitate to look up this very unique book also.
