I attended a planning session at a Fortune 500 company that used the premise of this book to take us into reality. The concept is solid marketing and echoes the corporate or, perhaps, venture business axiom that "we really loved this project when it was a dream!" And, who doesn't? This book gives us all practical knowledge about how to take our businesses from that small, little known phase of early adopters and get on the mainstream engine by crossing the chasm between those of us who are destined to remain a small business to one in which we really grow and proper and make our dream a reality in the mainstream

This book is not only a pleasure to look at but the variety of recipes is one that will keep you busy for a very long time. The biographical information on the chef, the facts about what sells best in his famous NYC shop as well as the organization of items is simply fantastic. Even though the first one I baked was the "banana cake" it was actually banana bread with a great variation. It was lighter and moister that the one that I use from one of my other books.The photos are professional and the recipes are easy to use. I will make alot of items from this book.

Good, not great, 19. Juni 2000
I have a large collection of cookbooks. I ordered this book to complete a set of references that I have on baking and it makes a great addition. While not well illustrated or visually pleasing, it does contain all the basics of French baking and would make a good reference work for the home baker. All the base recipes are there plus some good variations on new items. There are lots of recipes to try and you won't be dissappointed by the variety.

Good advice that can come from within, 11. Juni 2000
I'll have to admit that I'm a fairly big reader of self-help books. Many of the "to-do" lists in self-help books are useful, I found this book an internal to-do list. Instead of outward activities that many books ask you to partitipate in to make progress, this author advises looking to your most inner thoughts, your dreams, your conscience, in order to find what you really want out of life. It works. Listen to your quiet moments, pay more attention to your third sense and record the things that occur in your dreams. There is a direct relationship between all of these thoughts and the things that will make you happiest. Interesting thought in the book ... "What did you want to do when you were seven?" Think about it and the level of satisfaction you are getting our of life now.

A great family resource, 6. Juni 2000
Are there more bike shops per capita in Rochester or is it just that so many people want to enjoy the outdoors from May through October? I can't think of a more enjoyable source of weekend r&r than taking one of the trails suggested in this book. There are good suggestions for ability, the maps are adequate, and the directions to the start of the trail are clear. The only thing I'd add to this book is an online link for printable maps so I don't have to take the book (although pocketable) along. A must for any Rochesterian who wants to enjoy the trails around town.

An outstanding tool!, 2. Juni 2000
This is an outstanding book. I've purchased copies of it for my advanced photo friends and open it constantly. It is not just about travel photogrpahy but photography in general. Although I really enjoyed the sections on preferred epuipment and lighting, I paarticularly liked a secion of the book that included 10 self assignments to enhance your photo skills. These are assignments much like those that you might receive as a travel photographer or even photojournalist -- all intended to achieve the ultimate goal of creating an incredible portfolio of work. There are great reference guides, sidebars and tools throughout the book that I am sure you will use too.

The fish master, 1. Juni 2000
I've eaten at Le Bernardin a couple of times and although I occasionally felt overwhelmed by the NYC high-powered patrons, I always left the table impressed and glad to pay the high pricetag. Meals there are tremendous. I was afraid I might be intimidated by this book but was pleasantly surprized. Not only was the book beautiful in presentation, layout and illustration, but the introductions, recipes and ingredients were very useable, easy to execute and a gastronomic success when I tried them. This is a book for every cookbook library.

Nicely done, 1. Juni 2000
As a marketing professional at an ecommerce architecture business, I found this one of the few internet marketing books that I could use as a reference. With the online support link that is referenced in the book, it makes maximum use of the new technology as well as taking advantage of classic marketing disciplines.

Imagination is part of cooking, 1. Juni 2000
Let's face it. I collect many cookbooks because they are just plan interesting to look at. If there are recipes inside that make my life even more enjoyable, all the better. This book falls into that category. While I may make four or five recipes out of this book, I absolutely love the photography! I want to go to the restaurant someday and it's great to daydream about my trip by looking at the fabulous photography in this book.

Watch the show, need the book, 1. Juni 2000
While I'll admit that I'm a foodtv addict, Ming Tsai is one of my favorites. His show is easy to follow, has a great story behind every recipe, and makes the bridge between the orient and the West so nicely. This easy style and friendly atmosphere is reflected nicely in the book and the recipes are absolutley fun to make and serve. My only reservation is that the illustrations and layout, given the price, could have been better. It isn't a great book to look at.
