Preis: EUR 13,95

5.0 von 5 Sternen A very scholarly insight into the last 500 years of Europen economic, cultural, and military history, 26. Juli 2013
Verifizierter Kauf(Was ist das?)
The turbulent rise and fall of the varying 'Great Powers' of Western and Central Europe after 500 A.D. to 2000 A.D. is placed in an intriguing economic and then military context. His ideas of strategic overreach or strategic overstrech and then imperial overstretch have much to be recommend and considered. His book should be read in conjunction with Eric Wolf, 1982. Europe and the People Without History. Berkeley, Los Angeles, London, University of California Press.

Gnuplot in Action: Understanding Data with Graphs
Gnuplot in Action: Understanding Data with Graphs
von Philipp K. Janert
  Taschenbuch
Preis: EUR 26,10

5.0 von 5 Sternen Excellent book describing an even more excellent graphics program for analyzing quantitative data, 26. Juli 2013
Verifizierter Kauf(Was ist das?)
Gnuplot is a multi-platform, command-language controlled, very versitile graphics program for the analysis of quantitative data. Gratefully, it is in the public domain. Janert's book provides an excellent balance between the operation of the program and how the user should code his/her needs to the application of the myriad of options offered by the Gnuplot program. For each option, templates of the command-language with results are provided, with suggested 'tweaks' to obtain the desired optimal result. Yes, the program is complex. Dr. Janert has succeded in smoothing out that complexity to the satisfaction of the 'end user'.

Simulations in Archaeology (School of American Research Advanced Seminar Series)
von Paula L. W. Sabloff
  Gebundene Ausgabe

5.0 von 5 Sternen Truly excellent bnook, 26. Juli 2013
Verifizierter Kauf(Was ist das?)
This book represents the state of simulation applications in archaeology just before the personal computer explosion. Many basic issues, largely ignored or assumed to be understood in later publications, are treated in extenso. For an archaeologist making his/her first explorations into the wonderous world of computer simulation of archaeological problems and cultural processes, this book is a 'must'.
