It's not only a doctor's medical school education, residency training, and launching into practice that's so demanding, but what may be creeping into the professional's personal life along the way.
This is a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to become a doctor and what can happen once you get there.

A Physician's Plight: A Memoir - Professional Success ... Personal Disaster
**********

Reviews:
"Klein demonstrates a toughness and determination that will leave you cheering for her.” M. Graff “Auntie M”, Author, Hyde, NC

“A Physician’s Plight” is an intriguing read that shouldn’t be missed for readers of personal memoirs.
Mary Cowper, Reviewer, The Midwest Book Review

"This book pulls no punches – nothing is sacred, nothing is left out! Anesthesiologist Katherine Klein, MD, gives us “the good, the bad, and the ugly” of her family-of-origin, her marital suffering, and her divorce, which landed her in Family Court and deprived her of participation in much of the lives of her young children."
Josh Grossman, MD, FACP, Col. (ret.), U.S. Army Medical Corps

Hey, I found a new one that really surprised me. It's a debut novel by an US author unknown to me, but it was full of twists and very intelligently created characters. It's called Elegy: The Black Diamond, and it's about a guy who own a magical battle axe cut from a single black diamond. Beside a great story, I learned quite a lot about gemstones (as a side-effect). Try it:

Dark Vada Chronicles: Countdown now available for free. Protagonist is a (soon-to-be-)twelve-year-old girl who survives her daily life with a healthy dose of sarcasm. Actually, she has no other choice: Parents are divorced. Dad is sharing a one-bedroom-apartment with his flamboyant 'roommate'. Her little brother has abducted her dolls. And then there is her lazy uncle who claims to be a bisexual in order to screw a self-proclaimed 'lesbian'.

This is a quote from a review of Hide in Time - a time travel ebook

"An unusual story which grips you from beginning to end. Historical detail is well done, and it is a great read."

Perhaps it's worth a look.

Try Daughter of the Oceans. It just came out. It is a story about a fifteen year old girl who get adopted by a family of merpeople (maids and males) The merpeople have an natural enemy and one of them has fallen hopelessly in love the girl. Everyone is trying to keep the fact that they aren't really human a secret from her but she is on to them.
