I agree Harry. Great Idea.

I have a variety of novels written in English for those interested. No hard sell from me, but I'd love it if you would sample as it costs nothing to do so.

Regards,
Thea

Hello:
I am new to this forum. I have just put my self-published book on Amazon.de. The name of the book is called "The Silk Weaver's Daughter." It's the story of a Huguenot family who decides to flee France when Louis XIV, the sun king threatens death to all protestants, only to discover that nowhere is life without danger.

Thanks for starting this thread, Harry! Here's a quick desciption of my time-travel romance, As You Wish:

While touring an English estate, American Leah Cantrell finds an antique coin in a spring and tosses it back, casually wishing she knew who originally made a wish with it. The next thing she knows, she slips into the water and finds herself drowning in an abyss. In 1815, David Traymore, illegitimate son of the Marquess of Solebury, saves Leah from drowning on his father's property. In his view, she's dressed scantily, speaks with a strange accent and talks a lot of nonsense. Is this mysterious woman a madwoman, a Napoleonic spy, the victim of a crime ... or the answer to his wish?

Thank you for indulging me! : )

Danke, Harry, for this MOA thread... and to those readers at http://Amazon.de to whom I respectively submit OMAR: A Novel. For readers who enjoy maritime action, adventure and suspense in a thriller... with a twist of historical fiction blended in, please take a look at OMAR: A Novel. The tragedy of a sunken ship, world politics and intrigue come alive for cross-genre readers who like Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy, Jack Higgins or Wilbur Smith.

Winner:
International Benjamin Franklin Awards
Silver Award for "Best New Voice - Fiction".

Five and four-star reviews, in US, plus many editorial reviews, including:
"...a story of this magnitude is mind boggling...I can't wait to see it on the big screen"
Captain Jim L. Willsey, Deep Sea Treasure Hunter,
La Nuestra Senora de Atocha Treasure

A wave of terrorism was set into motion, in 1995, at 2077 fathoms under the sea. Secret plans were uncovered, to salvage a trove of priceless treasure from deep below the surface of the North Atlantic Ice Barrier, aboard the RMS Titanic. Oceanographer, archaeologist, and maritime law specialist, Dr. Cary Parker, challenged the terrorists on his own turf... and what followed was an adventure of legendary proportions.

"Deep ocean adventure in the tradition of Clive Cussler."
Charles Pellegrino,
"New York Times" Bestselling Author of the thriller, "Dust"

"... a novel that reads extremely well... marvelous climax... bravo!"
Robert Gover,
"New York Times" Bestselling Author of "One Hundred Dollar Misunderstanding"

I invite you to read "Omar: A Novel" and welcome submission of your own thoughts/reviews about the book.

Please, please, don't use Google Translate or any other online translation service. They always manage to miss the point just by a hair and it makes my teeth hurt to read that. To wit, your "German" sentence implored us not (like you were hopefully trying to say) to submit our thoughts (i.e. tell them to you, or make them public) but to be submissive to your thoughts (rank them lower than yours) -- dict.cc e.g. provided me with more than a dozen translations for the word "submission" to German and of course all of them are correct but is SO depends on the context -- machines just don't get the nuances. You are trying to sell a book that is written in English. If people can't even get what you want to say in a couple of lines in a post on an Amazon discussion, they probably won't buy your book anyway. But please -- just -- don't!

Dear writers,

there finally is a MOA forum on amazon.de (http://www.amazon.de/forum/Triff%20unsere%20Autoren). Starting March 15th the same restrictions for self-promotion by authors as enforced on .com and .co.uk will be applied on all the other fora. For those who don't know what that means -- posts that contain self-promotion will be deleted by Amazon. So now would be a good time to bookmark that link ;-).

Feel free to start your own discussions in English on "Triff unsere Autoren". I'm sure nobody will mind and maybe you even get some new readers who never thought about looking at the English Books Forum. You also get to meet German authors and won't that be fun? The first discussion thread that has been started there is aptly called "Autoren aller Welt vereinigt euch - Authors of the World unite".

Don't you just wish you could include your book cover in here? It took me forever to come up with something good, and I wish I could display it here. I think that an original cover can be so intriguing that it influences people's buying decision.

Plateau Rebels

Flyover country. That's where Eva, a college-drop out from Germany, has ended up. Under the endless blue skies of Idaho, she discovers the world of bareback horseriding and Indian reservations. Making new friends was never easier. One day, after watching an old spaghetti western full of stereotypes, Eva and her Native American friends decide to make a "leather and feather" movie together. Determined to correct every mistake John Wayne ever made, they set off on a guerilla film making adventure.

There is no room for errors - the whole reservation is watching...

Unspoken Love during the Vietnam War (The Poem)

Unspoken Love during the Vietnam War

This book should be offered free sometime on the 10th through the 12th of March, 2012.

Written in 1975, and hidden away for 37 years.

At that time there was no avenue for anything that referred to same sex love. It was written in a loose iambic pentameter, octave rhyme, as a form of cloaking the subject matter. The poem was created after the fact, over pot and booze, and was a catharsis. I created it for an English Literature project. The Professor, Dr. W. read it, gave it a brief moment of verbal disgusted review. I never even submitted it for the grade.

It is a story poem of disaster on a Navy ship, and the display of spiritual love of one man for another. It is not sexually erotic.

It was an awakening to me of an entire "hidden" society, I didn't know existed. The political implications were swept away, and the defiance was real.

It is being told by myself. It is not my story, I still tear up thinking about it. It is what I saw.
Good, bad or otherwise, I would like appreciate a review. Just keep it clean.

The Seventh Chakra

From Boca Raton, to New York City, to Roanoke, Virginia, this book is a metaphysical journey; an awakening awareness as the struggles of the universe are revealed through a diverse group of people who have been connected by fate.

Energy and power abound in a battle to understand what the universe is trying to tell them and what the fate of mankind will be.

With every vibration of energy upon one of the seven chakra the group slowly awakens to the building blocks of existence, laying out choices of paths they may or may not take.

A young woman, Jackie, a Coast Guard Petty Officer draws the attention of street preachers in New York, who believe she is involved with the coming of a new black Messiah.

Bernie who had only met Jackie is intrigued but unsure why.

Jamal the prophet of the coming black messiah.

John a software creator becomes the center of attention of all involved when power, energy, sex, and death, weave their existence as they become joined in a vision of the Universal Plan and the fate of everyone.

Sex, violence, and revelations into the mind of creation are keyed into the reader as their own Chakra's awaken. Everyone who reads this book will experience an awakening triggered by their life and their energy. . Each reader will obtain their own level of awareness as their chakra are energized into an awakening.

The millionaire falls hard

I am delighted to see this title being downloaded in Germany, thank you so much if you are one of the ones who has done that. It has been described as a 'sweet love story' and also as a 'steamy read'! Which one is it for you? I love reading romance, so it was only natural that I would write in that genre. But I have an urge to write a mystery too. Maybe an idea will come to me once I've finished my next romance - 'Heat in the Kitchen' is due for release this summer.

Hi everybody!

My name is Armin Opherden and I live in Germany. Having written three books up to now, I thought 'Why not have them translated into English?' which seems to have been a good idea since people buy them and sometimes contact me in various countries of the world. I enjoy those international contacts and find the Internet once more a great invention, therefore!

If anyone is interested, these are my titles available in English:

Office Goofs

Anton - the Professor Never to Be: - About the failure of a genius -

Currently in preparation is this one:

Tipps gegen Liebeskummer: aus praktischer Erfahrung

Writing is so much fun! I really enjoy it and want to continue writing books as long as I can.

Best regards from Germany
Armin
