J. Randall meint:
Have you or anyone in your family ever been on a Vatican Watch list?

If you're interested in an exciting read take a look at my thriller Trip Wire. It offers a little of everything, Intrigue, Mystery, Murder, and Mayhem. Toss in the Vatican, the Mafia, and some memorable characters and you have an enjoyable read.

Petra Wagner, a professional photographer, learns of a secret that has been in her family for generations. Skeptical and unable to forget the story, revealed to her by her mother, she visits a grave site at secluded monastery in Germany. Her visit sets off a trip wire in Rome.

The von Hompesch family has been on a Vatican Watch List since 1842 when Ferdinand von Hompesch died at the monastery. Ferdinand, the last Grandmaster of the Knights of Malta, before the French, under Napoleon Bonaparte banished the Knights from the island in 1798, was a distant relative.

It was rumored that he was in possession of a priceless relic and may have hidden it on the island before he departed. The Vatican's Cardinal Matteotti learns that Petra is on a photo assignment in Italy and her brother Peter is vacationing on Malta. He dispatches a young priest to Italy to follow Petra, and Fra Guiseppe, one of their problem-solvers, to keep track of Peter.

After completing the photo shoot, Petra travels to Trieste, in search of clues. Peter's boss had him carry a set of blueprints to Malta, for an unsavory associate, Carlo. Peter soon finds himself an unwitting target of local criminals. Guiseppe is under extreme pressure from Cardinal Matteotti, to discover what Peter is doing on the island. The laity engaged by a local priest to keep tabs on Peter are ineffectual and Guiseppe reluctantly enlists the assistance of the underworld in Rome to keep track of him.

The present day Knights of Malta, headquartered in Rome, learn of the church's interest in Peter, and sends two of its clandestine members to discover why.

Petra flies to Malta and shares the family secret with her brother and enlists his help in the search. Their quest leads them from one clue to another as those watching them make their way through a tangled web of intrigue and danger.

Trip Wire was originally published under the title `Watch List'.

Trip Wire is over 70,000 words long.

Here are two more exciting novels from the author. The Imam of the Cave and the follow-up novel Gamal's Assassin.

The Dancing Boy

Thirty British troops a week are seeking medical help, toll of combat in Afghanistan.
A total of 3,021were diagnosed with `Adjustment disorder' between May 2010 and April 2012.
In places such as the US it is significantly higher.
Symptoms include self harming, drug abuse and anxiety attacks.
This is an account of a man, who to the detriment of his family and personal security refuses point blank to acknowledge these symptoms.

Blinded by the heat, Tom Gillet, a British soldier is dragged back from an IED by Shafiq, a small Afghan boy. Luckily he lost a foot and not his life.
Shafiq wasn't so fortunate. His family was murdered by the Taliban as a warning to those who helped the coalition forces, and he was sold into a child trafficking ring as a dancing boy.
Discharged from the army and on the threshold of PTSD Gillet feels forced to return to Afghanistan to search for the boy in the hope of finding him a better life.
But what he encounters is a world full of shock, betrayal and lies.
Returning home to the UK he finds himself drawn into the horrors of something he never knew existed behind the closed doors of immigrant Britain.

StoneLord1 meint:
Stone Lord (The Legend Of King Arthur, The Era Of Stonehenge)
It is the age of heroes, of dagger and axe. Across bronze age northwestern Europe great megalithic stones tower to the sky. The greatest of these is Stonehenge, standing alone on the Great Plain. But times of trouble come with strangers from the southern seas, and a king must be chosen by the High priest, the Merlin, to stave off the tides of war. The chosen youth, Ardhu the Dark Bear, must bind his life to the great stone circle, the House of Ancestors, and become the Stone Lord, king of the West. But as his powers wax, the love of his best friend, the hero An'kelet the Spearman, prince of Brittany, for Ardhu's wife, the Irish princess Fynavir, threatens to destroy all he has worked to achieve.
A retelling of the Arthurian legends from a totally different perspective...King Arthur in a bronze age world. Ritual, warfare, ancestor worship, forbidden love and lust in a time before the dawn of history. 5 stars reviews.

Maybe something light with loads of humour.

All In
Carla was young and beautiful and would do anything to be rich, and I mean anything. Not too much wrong with that, provided she could move on from a troubled past.
Her way out was playing high stakes poker, using Fat Yang as her mentor. Trouble is, it wasn't a game of cards that Fat Yang had in mind for her. It was something far more dangerous.
Fortunately for her, she discovers his intentions, and that's when the fun starts.
Both available on Smashwords.

A gritty no nonsense thriller full of twists and turns that hits the ground running and doesn't let up.
Hidden In Plain View
Gabriel Horn loved to kill, to watch the light slip from his victim's eyes.
When Sir Adrian Gold offered him £40,000 to kill the Prime Minister and his deputy he thought it was a joke.
"Cost you one million pounds," he laughed.
Sir Adrian didn't hesitate. "Agreed."
Horn stared at him. He was deadly serious.

The story of Thomas Elkin, who aged fifteen signed up as sniper in World War One. His intention wasn't to fight for king and country. His was to die an honourable death and cheat the hangman's noose for causing the death of his recently conscripted brother. But death walks a crooked path.

Action-Thrillers:

The Recruiter
"Great book, very very good action novel. This is one of those escapist novels that is hard to put down. Hope the author will stay with this character."

The Assassin's Wife
"I love a good woman heroine especially when they can outmanoeuvre experienced operatives! Using just a few tricks she picked up as a drama teacher and a whole lot of grit and determination she manages to really shake things up for the bad guys. I found this novel fast paced and action packed with interesting glimpses into the spy world. Highly recommended."

The Golden Catch
Usually read James Patterson...Fast moving, interesting, bit of romance & just enough make-believe. Struggled to put it down...i would highly recommend it."

Fatal Return
"I simply love all of Weston's books and this one did not fail to deliver. He never uses "fluff" to fill in pages. Excellent read."

The Slaves Of Ominopolis (English Edition)

Fear is an endless source of power. So an evil shamaness begins to enslave entire humanity, starting with a small town, named Ominopolis.
Unexpectedly, she gets help from a Sidhe. So does the other side. The humans can only thrive on the knowledge of free energy and curative plants. Otherwise they are doomed to die from mirthless banality.
The seely Sidhe knows the only help her side has: Although Adrielle does not plant to bring her friend back from the dead, she agrees to help fight a foe indeed.
On Samhain the battle for freedom begins.

An action-loaded adventure about independence, set in a timeless land.
It is written as draft of a film script, so it may not be for everybody.

I am thankful for any feedback.

“Adflatus” is a book within a book with interactive features. By the end of each episode one of the two main characters (bestselling writer Joseph Harmon and his character Mike Evans) faces a choice of what to do next and every reader will decide what option he would take thus creating his own pathway from pilot till the last episode.

Adflatus. Season 1. Episode 1. Pilot.
Adflatus. Season 1. Episode 2. The Apartment (The second way to continue the story after the “Pilot”. In the last case readers should skip Joseph’s chapters as they are the same in both variants.)

A gripping thriller.
This is an up-dated version of a novel that tells of innocent young Afghan boys sold by their parents to wealthy Taliban warlords to be trained as dancing boys. A form of sexual slavery that exists today.

The Dancing Boy
The army had no use for Tom Gillet after he lost a foot in Afghanistan. If it hadn't been for a young Afghan kid called Shafiq, he might have lost his life. With his life turned upside down and suffering from PTSD, Gillet's family life crumbles. From an ex- army buddy he discovers that Shafiq has been sold as a dancing boy to a powerful Taliban warlord. Seeking one more final fling Gillet grabs the opportunity to start a war of his own, and returns to Afghanistan hoping to find the boy. Betrayed by those closest to him he is handed over to Al Qaeda. Fighting against his rage, and with his PTSD worsening, Gillet is determined to finish what he has started. Then he receives startling news concerning his family back in the UK, and slowly his mind starts to erode.
Not for the squeamish.

If you like down-to-earth British thrillers with rough edges and full of black humour. Like your stories close to the bone? Like to call a spade a spade? You will like,

Hidden In Plain View
Gabriel Horn considers himself a London boy. But part ownership of the Back to Front Club, a gay bar in the centre of Soho, doesn’t somehow generate the same excitement as his previous employment, an active operative for MI5. When Sir Adrian Gold, Shadow Minister for Defence, offers him the opportunity to repay the government for the shoddy way they forced him out of Thames House, he accepts. His mission: to assassinate the leading Ministers of the British Government. Trouble is, when the body count begins to rise, those closest to him begin to die. Tracked by Scotland Yard and MI5, it isn’t until the CIA become involved that he finds himself trapped in a jigsaw of murder and treachery to avoid an international scandal capable of bringing the British Government to its knees.
