The Surreal Killer, the third Roger Bowman-Suzanne Foster South American mystery novel in the series, is now available as a Kindle E-Book from Amazon DE.
A serial killer is leaving a trail of dead women across Chile, Peru, and Bolivia. The gruesome corpses all seem to have died in exactly the same macabre way. There may be a link to a small group of scientists who meet annually in different locations in the region. Roger Bowman and Suzanne Foster are asked by the local police to attend this year’s meeting of the group in Lima, Peru to try to find out who was present at the previous meetings when the murders occurred. And the reader is off on a fast paced pursuit of the killer through Lima, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu in Peru and Chile’s Atacama Desert. This is a true whodunit mystery novel set in an unusual and exotic locale.

Frank Mundo meint:
The Brubury Tales is a modern version of The Canterbury Tales in Los Angeles just after the '92 riots -- 65,000 words written entirely in rhyming verse.

Made Amazon's bestselling poetry books in The UK #81 and Italy #40 (for books in English). Nr. 31 in Englische Bücher > Belletristik > Lyrik > Epische Dichtung

The Brubury Tales [by Frank Mundo] is a landmark book, in what is going to be -- and already is -- an exceptional, distinguished literary career. --Carolyn See of The Washington Post

Mundo's skill is astounding and has a natural cadence. These stories are intriguing and compellingly human, and soon enough the reading becomes listening. --Sacramento Book Review

With inspiration from many literary classics and plenty of original spin, The Brubury Tales is a fine collection and not one to be missed. --Midwest Book Review

The Brubury Tales is a brilliant blend of writing, combining the style of Chaucer while putting a new slant on the short stories of the classical writers. --Reader Views

A unique and powerful new book,The Brubury Tales draws upon Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and classic stories by Mark Twain, Edgar Allan Poe, and Charles Dickens, to name a few. Frank Mundo takes risks with his writing, which is sensitive, thoughtful, and gritty. --Laura Frazin Steele, LA Books Examiner

Guten Morgan!

I'm a U.S. based author with several books on Kindle. So far, the only ones in German are the short story above and a young adult thriller:
Die Lilienvilla

This year, two more of my novels will be translated and I'm eager to see how that works out. I really need to brush up on my German. I took it in high school but unfortunately, I've forgotten so much of it.

My books in English:

A Scattered Life / Easily Amused

For teenagers:

Favorite / Life On Hold

For kids:

Secrets of the Magic Ring / Celia and the Fairies

Danke!

I'm Cliff Ball, and I have five novels and two short stories available on Amazon.

Times of Trouble: an End Times novel Kindle & paperback
Thirty years in the future, the U.S. government has turned into a tyranny as the EPA and TSA grow with ever more power.

Brian, the main character, tells his story from first person point of view. His work with the FBI involves mostly cyber terrorism and actual cases of potential real world terrorism. Eventually, his wife gives birth to their third child, who has Down's Syndrome, which does not please the U.S. Health Administration because there are rules and regulations set-up in cases like these to prevent "genetic freaks" as they like to call them, from sucking up a lot of Health Admin money. Because the Atwoods are born again Christians, they never considered aborting the baby, so now the Health people have to take him away to deal with the problem later.

Meanwhile, the Secret Service decides to recruit Brian to be the personal agent of the President of the United States, David Collins, due to his great work involving a case that dealt with terrorism that would've involved Offutt Air Force Base. Brian's faith is tested every day as he deals with a man who has no morals from what Brian can see, and is tested even more when his wife finds out that she's dying from a fast growing form of breast cancer. Trouble in the rest of the world occurs as Iran attempts to nuke Israel, which fails spectacularly, so Israel takes care of the problem. This brings condemnation from everyone, including the U.S., which takes the side of Iran.

When the re-election of Collins doesn't turn out the way he wanted it, he and his people declare the election nullified because of supposed "irregularities" with the ballots. Collins claims that the new President-elect may take the seat sometime in the middle of next year, if everything looks to be sorted out. Collins purges his staff of what he considers unloyal people, including Brian. At the same time, he loses his wife, but regains the son he thought he had lost.

Brian moves back to his family home in Nebraska, where we follow what happens as the country slowly falls apart. Events play out as Brian and his family sees the End Times approach.

A Short Story based on the poem - Unspoken Love During the Vietnam War

FREE MAY 2, 3,
Short story in English

This is the story you ask for and hopefully I provided.

In 1975, I wrote a poem and posted it recently on Amazon. It had a great response but mostly from people that said they wished it were a story, that poetry sucks.

Well, for me the poetry is where the emotion was but to attempt to please, I have "tried" to write it into a story. The issue is will it maintain the emotion needed to understand the incident that happened.

Now the poem was hidden away for 37 years.

At that time there were no avenues for anything that referred to same sex love. It was written as a catharsis for an English class but was rejected by the professor.

This is the story based on the original poem of disaster on a Navy ship, and the display of spiritual love of one man for another.

It is being told by myself. It is what I saw.

Frank Mundo meint:
Gary, the Four-Eyed Fairy and Other Stories= EUR 0,89

5 stars: An exciting series of short stories which reads like a novel

This is ostensibly a series of short stories, but because of the common theme and character of the narrator J.T. Glass, it feels much more like a novel. The reader is led through a series of situations J.T. finds himself in --- sometimes from childhood, sometimes adolescence, and sometimes adulthood --- and sees those situations through J.T.'s eyes. Those eyes are ironic, intelligent, and full of humor about things that would otherwise be impossible to cope with.

Reading this book is something of an emotional adventure. The situations are so shocking, and so varied, that there's never a point at which you can guess what's coming next. But the heart of the book --- the tone which is maintained throughout --- is kind enough that the ride can be endured, and is worth going on.

Oh, and most importantly. This book is written with an artist's eye (a fact which is hinted at in the very first story). Phrases are used symmetrically, popping up meaning one thing at one moment, and something much richer at another. The language, the pacing, and the mood are all established carefully.

If you ignore the attention poured into it, the end result is a book which reads smoothly and easily. If you care to, though, it's also a book worth studying.

Here’s the Midwest Book Review’s review on the recently published fourth book in the Chester the Chesapeake children’s book series: Chester the Chesapeake Book Four: My Brother Buck These children's books are also readable by and rewarding to adults and are a bargain price!

"Chester the Chesapeake Book Four: My Brother Buck continues this excellent picturebook series from the point of view of Chester, a devoted therapy dog and family pet. In My Brother Buck, a kindly neighbor calls Chester’s owner about a friendly and rambunctious dog. When no one answers the lost dog advertisements, Chester has a new brother named Buck – a big, friendly, fifty-pound dog in need of a little training!

Told from Chester’s perspective and illustrated with captivating, full color photography of Chester, Buck, their canine sibling Putt-Putt and their feline sibling Kittie, My Brother Buck is a most enjoyable read-aloud story especially for young animal lovers.

Also highly recommended are the previous books in the series, “Chester the Chesapeake (Book One), “Chester the Chesapeake: Summertime (Book Two),” and “Chester the Chesapeake: Wintertime (Book Three).”
