gripping, emotional, warm, sad, wise, 29. Januar 2012
My mom used to have and read some very good books when she was young and member of a book club. I read some of these when I was old enough. The Sojourner (or Der ewige Gast, which is its German title) was among those I loved most and remember best. Farmland America, poor people, wide hearts, splendid farm food, life and death, it is so well written and so heart-warming and so sad. Must read.

Gibts im Moment noch Vergleichbares?, 16. Mai 2010

Excellent booklet and agreeable TdM deck, 25. Januar 2010
I bought the kit because of the booklet included, which - short as it is - is an excellent and outstanding (and thus rare - name a better one?) companion to understanding and reading Marseille-like tarots.

Technically not too durable, 11. Januar 2010
From a "technical" standpoint I prefer books that do not seem to fall apart from just glancing at them. The two accompanying books (one is the "pictorial guide", which I already own) are really badly bound. Pity, for otherwise the package is quite nice (and the information on Pixie not new, but interesting). The deck, centre to the whole package, is a well-done RWS edition.

Well done, 10. Januar 2010
This was my first biography of Aleister Crowley - and for some time, I guess, my last. While Mr. Crowley certainly was an intriguing person and biographical subject, there is just too much in the description of his life that I find downbearing, depressing, revolting or just a bit unappetitely. But that is just me and it does not diminish the biographical work done by Mr. Sutin. The book contains a wealth of details which are, as far as I can judge, well and objectively commented and assessed, especially with regard to Crowley's artistic and magickal work. The book is well written and very readable and - the aforesaid notwithstanding - worth reading. I would have expected a more extensive bibliography - although just now, having finished the book yesterday, I would not really want to immediately read more on the subject of Mr. Crowley, but for my later use, maybe, or those who would want to dig deeper.

well researched and insightful - and an invaluable companion to the Dame Fortune Tarot, 17. Oktober 2009
One of my favourite tarot books. Bought two copies. Pity there is no hardcover edition, or is there? The book is well researched and gives some invaluable insights into card interpretations, quoting mainly from Picatrix, Eteilla, Mathers, Golden Dawn and Waite. No new-agey stuff, but historically based card information. It is an excellent companion to Paul Huson's Dame Fortune's Wheel Tarot (Lo Scarabeo), as well as - in my opinion - to Marseille-style taot decks.

Mixed feelings, 15. Oktober 2009
I like mysteries and masons and ciphres and noetic science - so the book was an acceptable read, after all. If it had ended immediately after the showdown I might have given it one or two stars more. But what was finally "revealed" and where and how means that somehow someone has been cheated - me, as the reader, or Robert Langdon not having been told the final "secret" after all. Anyway the novel is either too long (the revelation part) or much too short (I am not a fan of dei ex machinae). While still entertainig on a long bus ride or a windy, rainy weekend, I guess this was the last Dan Brown novel I'll add to my catalog (and I am not sure the book will remain in my catalog and library permanently, which most of my books do). Pity, this could have been much better.

Great, beautiful, well researched and unique, 30. August 2009
The cards are based on Paul Huson's research. The deck has "Marseilles-inspired majors and Etteilla-inspired, fully illustrated minors", which in my view makes it a very interesting and rewarding alternative to RWS- or Thoth-clones. Get Paul Huson`s "Mystical Origins of the Tarot" along with the deck and you have a very extensive and deep "Little White Book" for the deck. This is a historical tarot deck of sorts, in that it draws upon what tarot was before the Golden Dawn while being not as different from RWS decks to make reading the cards all too difficult (RWS and Golden Dawn did of course draw lots from earlier tarot wisdom). I always wanted a "Marseilles tarot with illustrated pip cards" and while this deck - due to the deep research it is based on - quite certainly is more that that to me it is just the fulfillment of this wish of mine. The illustrations are quite beautiful, btw, and the material quality of the Lo Scarabeo deck to me seems excellent. Definitely recommended. I got two decks :-)

Hat mir sehr gut gefallen, 27. August 2009
Klare Leseempfehlung!
