Having declared himself the Dragon Reborn, Rand al'Thor must proceed to fulfill the prophecy that he will protect the world from the return of the Dark One. Jordan's hefty addition to his massive series begins very much in medias res as an unknown danger threatens the city of Tar Valon, home of the powerful, nunlike Aes Sedai. In a whirlwind of uncertainty stirred up by the conflicting motivations of such groups as the Whitecloaks, the Darkfriends and Trollocs (among an abundance of others), Rand travels to the city of Rhuidean in the Aiel Waste for answers. Jordan ( The Dragon Reborn ) seems to be intent on turning the series into an endless soap opera; in each successive volume he introduces more new elements than he resolves. What was originally a mood-setting technique--the tendency of most characters not to share their special knowledge with either their companions or the reader--has by now become boring. Hundreds of characters and dozens of conflicting plots cause much of the action to take place offstage. As a result, this fully imagined saga threatens to burst the seams of its steadily more intricate design. Nevertheless, the sheer force of his invention develops a momentum that established Jordan fans, and probably like-minded new readers, will find hard to resist.

Well, when You are interested in this book You will probably have read the first three volumes of this saga.
In his fourth book of the Dragon Reborn R.Jordan gives us first in deepth information about the Aiel, the dragon people. Rand al'Thor visits them in company with Lan, Moraine, Egwene and Mat. And they discover old and new informations about the proficies about the Dragon Reborn and the Aiel. Meanwhile Loial, Perrin and his Faile take the ways to the vallley of Two-Rivers to put an end to the presence of whitecloaks there. While there Perrin unravels more and more of his own destiny and fights all evils that threaten Two-Rivers.
Having cleaned The Stone from black sisters Nynaeve and Elayne hunt them down in Tanchico being accompanied by Thom and Juilin.

The story unfolds brilliantly and Jordan does a great job describing the Aiel and the City of Tanchico. The Journey of Perrin and his struggles along the way were great to read and to anticipate. The ending leaves You craving for the next volume of this still expanding saga.
Great work, fun to read and full of lively charakters the fourth volume of Wheel of Time fullfills all my expectations and goes a great deal further.

Alright, I am 14 years old, and a girl mind you, and I've fallen in love with these books from the very first page of the very first book, and when I am not reading these books I am often thinking about them, they are impossible to put down once started, and it's often hard because they are so long. I started these books when I was 13, I learned about them from one of my older brother's friends who had been adicted to them for a while. I just finished this book, and I've been trying to get my mom to take me to the library ever since. But one tip, if you read this book make sure you put it down once in a while, a whole summer can be spent just reading trust me, I know.

Fantasy in seinem vollen Detailreichtumg, gespickt mit Liebe zur Poesie, Spannung bis zum Allerletzten und unvorhergesehen Ereignissen, mit knallharten Kämpfen und Kriegen, geführt mit Witz und Rafinesse, mit Magie und all ihren Nebeneffekten.

Ob man nun bereits Anhänger des Herrn der Ringe war, sich im Genre der Fantasy auskennt oder es schon seit langem zu schätzen weiß - es macht keinen Unterschied. Wer sich für eine Zeit in andere Welten flüchten möchte und seiner Fantasie gepaart mit den Vorgaben des Autors freien Lauf lassen möchte, ist mit dem Epos des "Wheel of Time" von Jordan meiner Meinung nach bestens bestückt.

Auch der vierte von (mittlerweile) über zehn Romanen kann ohne große Probleme an seinem vorherigen Standard anknüpfen und entführt mit Leichtigkeit erneut in Stunden voller Leselust.
