Grade 4-6-This concise biography touches upon major events in the life of the late Princess Diana. The first third focuses on her early years. Her parents' divorce and remarriages are discussed, as is the dislike that Diana and her siblings felt toward their stepmother. Her courtship with Prince Charles is presented in a workmanlike manner. Stone writes that, "...people knew that Prince Charles was more interested in finding a woman that would fill the role of a princess than he was in falling in love." Diana's bouts with depression and bulimia are briefly mentioned. Her extensive work with charities is discussed, and a listing of organizations that she supported is appended. Full-color photos appear throughout. A suitable choice for students doing research or who are interested in reading about the late princess.
