don't buy into the hype

This is the worst Y2k preparedness book I have read. The author spends less than half the book with "stolen" material from disaster agencies. While the other half discusses your relationship with God. Sandwiched in between is lame analysis, quotations from distinguished "in the know" people and filler checklists that are inappropriate and belie the title of the book. The only reason for the overly large type style is to allow the scarce material to fill a small book. The authors' ramble from one subject to another inside a single paragraph and cannot hold a thought for more than a few sentences. It is very difficult to read. The productive ideas in this book could have been printed on a single sheet of paper and mailed out in a chain letter. The ideas are not clearly defined, give no or poor examples, and present nothing new or expanded. Confirmation of the quality of this book is represented here by readers comments from Texas. The reviews are certainly bias. ." I can only believe that all the '5-star' reviews are the authors' plants. The authors' may be a fine people, but this book is not a reflection of a mastery of the subject covered within. They would benefit from a very good and very brutal editor. Don't be a sucker and get bilked. But if you just can't resist, go ahead and buy it - you'll be sorely disappointed!

I "used" this book an incredible 64 times in the "reading room!" 128 pages...but 2-ply!!

As a Christian myself, I would be ashamed to put my name on a slipshod "book" like this and charge money for it. The authors actually know very little about the subject matter, at least compared to the many bona fide experts out there. More than once they refer to Jan. 1, 2000 as the start of the next millennium -- it's not: The next millennium doesn't start until 2001. This pretty well illustrates the authors' level of (in)competence. A significant portion of the book is merely a tract encouraging the reader to get right with God. I have nothing against such a message, but I sure resent being charged so much money for something that most Christians would normally be inclined to distribute for free, or for a nominal fee to cover costs. All in all, I think the authors' desire to have a good Christian testimony through this "book" have pretty well backfired.
