This novel is definetely a classic. I have read it twice and it hasn't lost any of its "magic".
The love between Heathcliff and Catherine is the essential plot. Their love is meant to be forbidden, as Catherine should marry Linton. But on their way to eternal happiness they have to fight against conventions and their family.
The most impressive part in the novel is when Heathcliff stands at Catherine's tomb and twists a bit of his hair with Catherine's. He should be haunted to death by his one and only loved person.
It's simply amazing how Emily describes the feelings of the characters and it is much more than a book which is read during break time. Take your time, enjoy the book and discover how love survives but how desire leads to death.
