William Gallacher has done a great service to the commodities industry. In "Winner Take All" he rightfully exposes quite a few of the bogus gurus and charlatans that abound in this business. I disagree with him over the futility of technical analyisis though. There are a number of CTA's with excellent long term track records who rely solely on technical analyisis. A guy by the name of William Eckhardt comes to mind. So does another guy by the name of Richard Dennis. Apart from Gallacher's scathing criticisms of well known commodity "gurus" the most valuable part of "Winner Take All" is the section on money management; a topic on which many downright stupid things have been said. Gallacher correctly notes that exposure is far more important than stop placement. In conclusion, if I could give this book ten stars, I would.

"Winner Take All" is an excellent book. The author is an avowed fundamentalist, yet he does not discard the validity of technical analysis all together. He also exposes the "gurus" we so frequently hear about in the world of commodity trading. People should really ask themselves why anyone in his right mind would want to sell the perfect system or indicators. If they were really that good, they would use these tools only for themselves. William Gallacher deserves to be heard.

The author pulls back the curtains to expose the so-called "gurus" and "wizards" of Wall Street to show them as they really are - frauds.
You'll read how one "guru" lost millions of dollars while "managing" accounts for others, while at the same time putting a million dollars or so into his own pocket via his own account. Reading this book has saved me at least $3,000.
