The thriller as such is quite entertaining in its own way. Clark spends a little too much time on describing what the indivual characters like to wear and eat. True, the novel takes place in the fashion worls, still it does not seem necessary to describe the characters through the clothes they wear. We have a young heroine, all the rage of the big apple's fashion world, who meets her lover a little too sooon the game. Clark's characters are usually flat, here they seem unusually flat and almost a bit too boring and predictable. The book could have been shortened and that would increased its impact. I felt it a bit long-winded in places. The solution is a little bit far-fetched and makes you wonder how this character of all people would make the murderer. It seems best not to examine the novel too clsoely in that respect. The final showdown was a little too orchestrated when suddenly three people at the same time realize who the murderer must be and storm off to the same place to prevent the heroine from being murdered. It is okay to read but don't rush, Clark has written better stuff.
