Every new book in the series to me is like a visit to a familiar place, meeting up with old friends. You don't read these books, if you're looking for action and suspense...but I don't have to explain that to Braun's longtime fans, do I? Reading her books has been compared to enjoying a nice cup of tea by a fireplace, a cat curled up in your lap - I totally agree! There is a little bit of tension in Qwilleran's and Polly's relationship this time, which she blames on the preparations for the grand openings of the new bookstore "The Pirate's Chest", but Qwilleran suspects it has more to do with this new attractive man in town, Alden Wade...I already knew pretty early in the book, who the "bad apple" was going to be, but that didn't lessen the pleasure of reading it.
