This innovative program offers practical, useful strategies for people with AD/HD, so that they can make use of their brain functions that do work well and learn day-to-day skills that may otherwise be too difficult to master. Based on the concept of visual thinking and filled with tips on how to keep the body at its highest functioning level, this program helps AD/HD sufferers become successful in their everyday lives. The authors share simple yet powerful techniques to develop and harness the strengths of the visual right brain, while at the same time demonstrating how treatment for AD/HD can maximize success.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Some good ideas...... 26. Mai 2008
Von Kavity Killer - Veröffentlicht auf
What I took away from this is the power of visualization and developing visual memory as an another tool. I didn't however finish the four week program. Part of this, sure, is ADD, but part of it was the excruciatingly slow pace at which it progressed. When I have a desk full of bills to pay, I don't like directions to "spend no more than 10 minutes on your desk today." It just doesn't fly. To be fair, this would probably be a great book for someone who had no organizational systems in place, was completely overwhelmed, and had no idea where or how to start. I know there's many out there like that. I do have a system of sorts, so this wasn't a good fit for me. If you have ADD and have no clue where to start, by all means try it!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Excellent description 21. Oktober 2008

Chapter one is one of the best descriptions of ADD that I have read. I learned a lot about myself even though I have read several other books on the subject and have been acquainted with the disorder for more than 10 years.
Chapter two describes how right-brained people's brain functions, how learning and recall are different from left-brained people. Very interesting and practical information.
The best part is the 4-week schedule of activities in the last chapter. I was amazed when I started to do the activities. Now I know why other organizing systems (based on left-brained logic) never worked. You can see amazing results immediately. The important point is DO THE DAILY ACTIVITIES at the end of the book. It will change the way you look at life. Organization and follow-through will be like never before. I always thought I could never get organized, but now it is happening!

5.0 von 5 Sternen "4 Weeks" COMPASSIONATE AND PRACTICAL 25. November 2007
Von Linda O. Lewis - Veröffentlicht auf

"4 Weeks To An Organized Life With AD/HD" is one of the best books I have read on understanding and dealing with AD/HD. It's clear, informative, compassionate and practical and provides a more comprehensive look at AD/HD than the title suggests. The authors' up-to- date, scientific explanation of this neurobiological disorder uses language that those new to ADHD can easily understand. This complex disorder has behaviors that are continually and painfully misattributed to psychological or moral motivation. "4 Weeks" strongly establishes the biological source of the shaming behaviors that are AD/HD. I have been providing therapy to adults with AD/HD for over twenty years, and I think this is a book that all of my clients, their families and other mental health professionals would find helpful.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Three Cheers for 4 weeks 27. November 2007

This is a must have if you either have ADD or treat others that have ADD!
I am a Clinical Social Worker that has been treating patients with ADD for almost a decade and I actually learned some new techniques from this book. I have recommended it to most of my patients and they really like it!
The begining chapters provide a clear understanding of the nuances of adult ADD in a easy to read and enjoyable fashion using case examples. The organizing portion is written in the same easy fun style with headlines and "Activity" sections. Working the activities are quick and interesting building on strengths of the ADD mind. This book is easily worth the money. Also a great Holiday gift for a good friend or family member.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Adult AD/HD - relief and a clear horizon 9. Februar 2009
Von 1.withall - Veröffentlicht auf
I was reading this book as I was waiting in my doctor's office to get my ADD meds refilled.

Upon reading just the first pages, I was transfixed and transformed.....and a little creeped out. How is it someone could see in my head and my thought processes so clearly?

However, the relief I found in the easy-to-digest, well-written text of this book superceded my angst that the thought police had tapped my neural network!

Seriously, this book is the absolute best I've read on the topic, and it has brought me tremendous awareness of the boundaries of my brain function, and given me tools to dig my way OUT of the mire...brilliant as the mire may seem at times.

I have a teenage son w/ADHD as well, and the tools and text have realigned my pathways for dealing with his issues and struggles, which overall, has brought relief and a new focus to our entire household.

If you think you or someone you love or work with has AD/HD, read this book THEN get them a copy. You will all be changed for the better.
