This book show you the best way to discover the Valais' Alps : by walking. Valais,the mountainous part of Switzerland, is just the best Europe can bring you : wonderful casttles, living history, and splendid moutains. If you want to discover the Alps, then buy this book. In Valais, it is like all the picture about Switzerland, Heidi, ... coming true in front of you. Buy this book, you won't be disapointed.

This book is a must-have for anyone going to the Valais to wander the trails, and provides a very good overview of walks throughout the canton. The author really knows his stuff, and has created an excellent guide that logically organizes the walks according to geography. You can quickly thumb to Val d'Anniviers, for example, and review the options for walking in that area. Routes are ranked according to difficulty and approximate walking times are provided, so you can start out with some easy stuff and work your way up to longer and more difficult walks. Lots of helpful references regarding en route refreshment, mountain huts/cabane opening and closing dates, phone numbers, related topo maps, etc. Also has some nice photos that inspire one to consider a new route. Bound with a plasticized cover to help it survive multiple treks. I have used this guide and highly recommend....can't wait to use it again!
