I got this because we really liked Jeffers' Lost and Found. But this book is not as good.
The illustrations are beautiful, but the story is a bit complicated and less focused, especially for younger readers. The penguin and the boy split up and it tries to tell their story in parallel, with less success ("Likewise, the boy could barely sleep for worrying about his friend."). And sometimes all the pronouns get confusing, "He looked everywhere and even thought he'd found him for a second."
But we do still like this book and I don't regret buying it.
