Eliza Palmer is an author, speaker, and researcher. A degree holder in Public Health, she has dedicated her time to lecturing and supervising memory training programs. She has also appeared in various seminars and talks on memory improvement.

Through her continuous research and extensive knowledge in the field, Eliza has helped a number of people with memory problems; she has not only made them able to recover lost memories, but also aided them in enhancing their recollection skills.

Apart from focusing her efforts on memory improvement, she has additionally taken interest in women’s health. As a woman herself, she believes that there is still so much work involved for women to get the right assistance they need. Her passion greatly shows in all of her work, both written and spoken. And with that, she has been invited to deliver talks on a variety of topics such as pregnancy, fitness and diet, as well as breast and sexual health.

A mother of three, Eliza is the wife of a renowned painter. She lives in New York with her family. Aside from being a prominent training coach, lecturer, and author, she is an excellent cook and a collector of antiques and old records.

I could definitely say this is the best memory-enhancement guidebook ever! I got a lot of revolutionary knowledge from this book. It allowed me to see things differently. Before, I used to think that multitasking is such an important skill to develop in order to improve productivity and performance level. However, this book contradicted that myth and gave me a thorough understanding of what exactly is going on in my mind whenever I try to remember something. I’ve always had this crappy memory that always bothers me in some days and can leave me totally frustrated in others. I’ve been reading a few memory-improvement books but I never really understood what was going on in my head and so I sought the help of pharmaceuticals. When I got this book though, for the first time, I hoped that there was something else I could do to save my memory else than what I am currently doing now. It is very enlightening, insightful and –at some point - even inspirational. The author gave me a lot of reasons to believe that I actually am not what I used to believe –stupid. What I definitely liked about the book is that it doesn’t just gives you tips to improve your memory, more importantly it explains everything about memory before it gives us methods to take care of it. Also, I liked the humorous tone of the author. It did not feel like I was reading a guidebook at all. The book wasn’t as boring as the memory guidebooks I read in the past, it was entertaining, informative and motivating altogether.

I was sure my memory was so much better when I was a student than when I worked. These days, I can even hardly remember my first plan in the morning at the end of the day. My day usually ends up wasted because I realize the tasks that I should have accomplished when it’s too late and my day had already passed me by. I used to wonder if my brain was malfunctioning because I was no longer studying or that there were simply too many distractions on my way. However, thanks to this book, I was enlightened and finally understood what was going on. It wasn’t because there were too many distractions but actually because I haven’t trained my memory to be as active as it used to be. This book is heaven sent for me. With practice, the mnemonic systems I learned from this book practically replaced my string of Post-Its and saved me a whole lot of supposedly wasted time. I took the time to leave such a lengthy review because I still can’t get over the fact that this book is improving my day’s productivity by around 30%. Because I no longer have to plan the same activities for a few days of the week, I was able to spend more time thinking of more significant things. The relaxation methods suggested by the book also gave me a chance to evaluate and re-evaluate my days and to aid my judgment and decision-making. Really, this book isn’t just a textbook, it’s my journal and my inspirational guidebook altogether!”

“Since I turned 10 and understood how important it is to remember dates and events to get good grades in class, I have already been disappointed and frustrated with myself. I was sure the teachers will not include in the exam questions that were not previously discussed, so I was pretty sure I knew the answers. I just can’t REMEMBER them! It was very infuriating. And it just happens in a cycle so I frustrate myself almost every time there is an exam. Right now, I’m a freshman in the university and for the first time, I forgave myself – my memory, rather – for its shortcomings. Because of this book, I finally understood what exactly is going on in our minds once we learn, study, and remember information. I really appreciate the author’s keen observance to details when she wrote this book because it definitely allowed me to understand memory better. I’ve always heard about mnemonic devices before but the term never made sense until I got this book. Now, I fully understand most – if not all – the basic concepts, ideas and tips around the human memory; how it works, how it’s formed, and how it is taken care of. Two thumbs-up for this book and its author for a well synchronized, very comprehensive presentation of information and the friendly, humorous tone kept throughout of it . The author’s tone totally saves us from a misery of tedious reading and allows us to take pleasure in learning and getting better. And mind you, the mnemonic methods featured in this book are practically salvaging my survival in the university during exams.”

I was never really sure how to describe my own memory until I got this book. Every day, I have to suffer the frustration brought by absent-mindedness and chronically forgetting my keys, or forgetting to lock the door. I even forget I why I came all the way to my bedroom when I was just watching TV downstairs. It gets very infuriating sometimes that I decided I should start taking memory enhancement pills to get me through my every day. My daily routine is way too busy with all the tasks I have to finish in the office and all the chores to do at home. Turns out, I didn’t really need all those pills to get me through; all I really had to do was to train my memory and understand what it was that was going on in my head.
Apparently, this book explained everything to me. From the fact that “multitasking”- which II though was a great skill of mine - is not all that good and actually can be a total misnomer, to the all the natural ways I can take care of my memory and keep my focus through the day.
I’d like to cite all the positive and negative points I observed on this one, so everyone will be guided on what to expect from Ultimate Memory Mastery.
Positive points I liked about the book:
• I liked the language register used by the author because she used very simple words that are easily understandable and explains the jargons very well.
• The organization of ideas is very chronological; you won’t have any problems navigating through the pages.
• I particularly liked the author’s friendly and humorous tone. I enjoyed reading this one practically because it did not bore me death despite the fact that it was all talking about memory with all its jargon terms.
• The book is definitely informative – as it should be since this is a memory guidebook – but the Ultimate Memory Mastery explained relevant information far more comprehensively than other books I’ve read before ever did.
• Also, it is not a very long read, it wouldn’t take too much of your time but could give you knowledge about memory that could last a lifetime.

Ultimate Memory Mastery isn’t just another one of your medical books, as a matter of fact, right now, it serves as my ultimate guide to keeping my memory young and fit. However there are also a few negative points I’d like to point out.

Negative points I didn’t like much about it:

• As you read along, you’ll see there’s a typo or two in some texts, though these typos cane never really intervene your understanding.
• I liked the book well enough but I hope it was longer. I mean, the information from this is undeniably substantial. I just hope there were more pages, so there could have been more knowledge. Well, I guess it were longer, it would have defeated the author’s purpose of giving us ample information with less complicated read that takes shorter time to accomplish.

Though the writing style was certainly not as sophisticated as the topic and there were occasional (somewhat significant) typos, this was a very informative and easy-to-understand guide to improving memory. It began with an overview of the different kinds of memory and how memory works. From there, it very briefly explained the ways in which memory has been honed throughout history. It then went on to discuss the ways in which memory applies to daily life nowadays and how to improve it. I wasn't entirely convinced of its factual accuracy because it was so general, assuming, and not nearly as in-depth as a textbook. It would be well-suited to people who are looking for a basic understanding of how memory works. I especially liked the suggestions on how to improve concentration (and therefore memory).
