very entertaining, but not in the same notch as the first,

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Treason Keep (Demon Child Trilogy) (Taschenbuch)
I finished all the 650 pages in a mere day and a half. It was very well written and had me completely absorbed. It is only in hindsight, and by thinking back to the first book, that I say it deserves only four stars. The first book introduced a wealth of characters, concepts, settings that was almost breathtaking. This book, which tells the story of a siege, a victory, a betrayal and a revenge, naturally makes use of everything that was defined in the first book. But in comparison, it seems pale. The main setting is Treason Keep, an old fort on the norther border of Medalon, and all other settings and journeys described are not as interesting as those in the first book. The demon child's stay at sanctuary is explained in some detail, but we learn little of how she is taught to use her Harshini powers, just how she struggles with both sides of her heritage. As a result, her easygoing and caring behavior once returned to Targa, is not completely believable, and in the same way, her self assuredness and determination once she has shaken off Xaphista's priests and chain, seem a bit sudden and out of character. But, mind you, it was still well written and never seemed drawn out. All in all, a passable interlude that has me trying to wait as fast as I can for the last book! And in case somebody from the publishing house is reading this: there was an inordinate number of typographical errors in this book, nearly all of the kind that a spell checker with its limited understanding of grammer won't catch. There is just no substitute for a human proofreader! Helfen Sie anderen Kunden bei der Suche nach den hilfreichsten Rezensionen

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Treason Keep: Book Two of the Hythrun Chronicles (Taschenbuch)
I liked the book a lot, the story is awesome and has lots of details, especially the charakters. The story of a siege, a victory, a betrayal and a revenge kept me rading the book on and on until it was finished - in only one day, and I even started the next book (Harshini) the same day. The whole triology is breath-taking and I couldn't stop reading until I was finished with it.I can recommed reading the Wolfblade triology first, the storytelling is similar, the charakters are great and it is partially a prequel to the Medalon story. The Wolfblade/Warrior/Warlord triology was a little disturbed by the fact that after reading Medalon/Treason Keep/Harshini you know some things about Damin Wolfblade that makes you anticipate how parts of the story will end.
