A month ago I purchased this converter to use my (US made) XBOX in Germany and it's doing the job just like it's supposed to. It's got a solid metal case and it comes with three spare fuses. It's making a slight buzz when turned on - nothing I would notice while playing an XBOX but it could be an annoyance if you want to pair it with a silent appliance.
Although the title suggests 300Watt capability, the manual says you should not put a continuous load of over 200Watt on it. I've read many reviews where people complain that these kind of devices quickly overheat and burn out. I'd say they overload their converters - so make sure you check the maximum continuous load limit before you buy one of these. My XBOX is 135Watt which make the converter just slightly warm.
The only downside is its price considering it's twice as expensive as power supplies for computers which contain essentially the same kind of wiring plus active cooling.
